Hotels near Plaza de España Sevilla

Was there during Holy Week; had a little difficulty getting there because of the changes in bus routes and the swarms of people during the afternoon's processions, but took is as part of the experience. Very close to Plaza de España and Carlos V Avenue (2 blocks each); take the EA bus to the airport on this avenue; bus stop 2 blocks from hotel. There was a minimarket/store open 24 hrs around the corner, on Carlos V Ave also. Did not mind the walk to the centre, but is an easy 20-30 min walk. - Robin

The Alcazar hotel is a small, comfortable hotel ideally located near many of Seville's attractions. We could walk to: The Cathedral, The Alcazar Palace, Parque Maria Louisa, and Plaza de Espana. Buses also stop nearby on the main street in front of the hotel (Avenida Mendez Pelayo - i think). You can even walk to the river, Torre del Orro, or the Corrida (bullfight stadium) if you like walking. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. There's a nice restaurant next door as well. This 4 star hotel is worth every Euro that you pay. The staff are excellent, the rooms are spacious and well proportioned, the bathroom has double hand wash basins and a large shower with a separate toilet and bidet alcove. The location of the hotel is approximately a 10 minute walk to the SNCF station and approximately 15 - 20 minute walk to the city center. We arrived at this location and were greeted immediately. We were given a map, and the concierge answered all questions nicely. After checking in the room, we appreciated the cleanliness, view and the fact that the room had a great air conditioning system for the heat outside which was in the high 90's. The NH Viapol location is near a movie complex which we went to as well as places to eat which are open until past midnight. We stayed at this hotel as it was the location where my husband's conference was being held. The furnishings were sparse but comfortable, the rooms clean, the showers - hand-shower spray - very European. The room was very quiet. Firm bed. Overall, a comfortable stay but 10 minute taxi ride to the sights of old Seville. As a tourist, would not recommend staying here -- surrounding area is nondescript and unexciting. - Richard

For what we paid, this was excellent value. Booked through Holiday Nights and only cost £86 for two nights for the room. We were given Room 40, right at the top of the building and it was clean and comfortable, with plenty of hot water. Bit noisy at times because the sound from reception carried up the stairwell. From the small window we had a view over the rooftops. Cafe Rayuela, for breakfast, is excellent. Cheerful, noisy, so busy at 10 am one morning we went somewhere else, but must be the b - Brian

My wife and I have just returned from spending 3 nights 4 days in the lovely city of Seville. We stayed at the Monte Carmelo hotel and we were not disappointed. It took us 25 minutes to catch the bus from the Airport to the centre of Seville. The hotel was no more than a 10 to 15 minute walk from the drop off over the bridge. The hotel was in a very quite area. There was a lot of work being carried out by the local council to put in a pedestrian area in a number of streets around the hotel. So t - Trevor

Pleasantly surprised with this new, small hotel in a great location in front of the Murillo Gardens. It is rated a 2*, but IMO is under rated. It has nice accomodations, marble floors, a decent lobby & the great Modesto restaurant on site it deserves to be a 3*. Seville is undergoing a major construction, so as the taxi left us around the corner we got a bit lost. But upon enterering the hotel lobby we were greated by this charming spanish girl that was the highlight of our 3 days stay. She - Sidney
