Very friendly reception. Hotel is very well situated close to the city
centre and to the railway station. Breakfast room in the old chapel is
very nice. The modern equipped rooms are interesting, but not always
totally practical (bathroom is not really separated from the sleeping
area, a second entrance door would restrain noises from the floor).

Located in a slightly derelict area, but felt very safe. Very handy for sights. Characterful hotel, room very comfortable, liked the L'Occitaine smellies in the bathroom! David very friendly and helpful, gave good recommends for places to eat. Free street parking nearby was a bonus. And a very nice local man guided us to the hotel when we got lo... what people say » st on the outskirts of Jerez. -
David is a most welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable host. He seems to run the place pretty much single-handed, but he was always available when we needed him. The property is basically run as a B&B or as a pension, but the historic conversion, which is both sensitive and effective, gives the house much more atmosphere and soul than those descriotors might suggest.

The hotel was very central and easy to find. It was within 5 mins walk from the Tio Pepe Bodega (we went on the tour) and the cathedral and alcazabar. Casa Grande is the ideal place for visiting Jerez and its surroundings. I spent four nights in Jerez and got all the help needed from Monika and her staff. I visited a sherry bodega and went to a flamenco dance show. Cadiz with its nice beaches can be easily reached by train. For all activities the staff was very helpful. The hotel itself is an old townhouse that has been well refurbished. It has a typical patio, a nice roof terrace and tasteful furnishing.

Hostal Fenix is simply perfect. We have stayed twice now and find the hostal central to everything in Jerez. The rooms are immaculate and the breakfast a lovely touch - and is a lovely finish to a lovely stay. The rates are amongst the best in Jerez and we commend this hostal to any professional person staying in Jerez. Do not be put off with... what people say » the word Hostal. This hostal far out ranks some hotels we have stayed in... Literally a two minute walk and you are amongst the very heart of Jerez -
Very personable proprietors. Easy walk to city centre. Don't let the
title "hostel" fool you because it felt every bit like a family-
run hotel. It was beautiful with sunlight pouring into the foyer. My
room was spacious with a nice touch of the ancient wall exposed. High
quality for price! I would stay here again, for sure!
