** i was looking for a calm and quiet vacation, and lur hostel was the place for it -- loved the classic l'eixample apartment and loved the couch with the view of the block courtyard ** the location was perfect, close to the modernist attractions in barcelona ** it was really really clean, even cleaner than my own house :D ** the staff (david, maria, jaime, linda) were really friendly and helpful.
all reviews » we got lots of clothes to wash but had no time as I and my bf were busy to sight seeing all around in Barcelona but they did it instead of us and brought it into our room even twice. their English wasn't so fluent but didn't matter. just there is one thing to know that it's 10euro to use washing machine though the service was satisfied than my thought. just be sure about it. ** i was looking for a relaxing, calm and clean place, so lur hostel was perfect ** great location, very close to the modernist attractions of the city ** great atmosphere, a classic l'eixample building ** it was really really clean, seriously more clean than my own house :D ** staff (maria, david, jaime, linda) was very friendly and helpful. The owner Maria was very friendly and helpfull although she don't speak much english or us Spanish, but she could help us with everything we needed. The location is the best, in the quite street near the centre. Easy breakfast for start explorations of Barcelona. Rooms and facilities are clean and in good shape. Thank you Lue team!. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location close to Casa Batllo and within walking distance of other sights and the metro. Buffet breakfast provided. I had to leave really early to catch a flight and they left me a note with a couple of breakfast pastries which was lovely. Great if you are on a budget. I LOVED this place, the staff was amazingly friendly, it was extremly clean and had a perfect location! It was located on a calm street but only 10 minutes walk to the absolute city center. It was even better than many hotels I stayed at before - this was like coming home!. Nice woman working at the reception. When there was a problem with the hot water she immediately put on hold what she was doing and helped me with that. The place is very clean and well kept. The noise from the street is manageable if use the lockers on the windows properly. great location - a few meters to the train station Passeig de Gracia only and to Placa Catalunya a 10min walk.The on hop bus stop just nearby also. Location and staff helpfulness. Good value for money. Lur Hostel is very close to Passeig de Gracia which is the stop of L3 and R2(to T2 BCN) as well as the famous shopping street. It is in the same block of Hotel Claris. I liked the friendly staff. They were really very helpful. It was clean with nice taste. Location. ** the shared bathroom cubicles were too small: it was not very crowded when we stayed, so it was possible to use the main bathroom... but if the hostel is full, one would have to use the small cubicles which are not very convenient :D ** more shelves/racks are necessary in the showers ** mirrors would have been great inside the rooms :). Second day we changed a room as we booked originally but the room where right next by street was quite noisy and needed to share terrace with other rooms. and we didn't know about this previously if there was comment about these I would consider to choice another room. and secondly, casa battlo and casa mila are quite near from this hostel. It'd be much better if there was detailed comments about this as an advantage. was a good staying though. ** the shared toilet cubicles were too small (and i mean it): the hostel was not crowded when we stayed, so the main toilet was available most of the time... but this can be inconvenient if the hostel is crowded ** more shelves/racks are needed in the bathrooms. None. Would have liked a mirror in my room. 2 of the toilets were extremely tiny. A bit poor breakfast, cheap yogurt and no toasted bread, it can definitely be improved. Some toilets are very small and the legs barely fit in. The single room has no TV or a real dresser and it is quite clairaudient. There were only few people there when I visited so the niose didn't bother me. But I can image it getting really lound if there are many people staying at the same time. The double bedroom was not actually double. There were 2 single beds with the space between two matrasses. Breakfast was ok. A toaster would be nice...Other preferences: Mirror in the room and some kind of shelf in the shower to put the shampoo etc. Share bathroom. However the facilities are brand new and regularly cleaned. Despite my initial apprehension it did not became an issue and all the other pluses made me forget about this point. Breakfast - just too cheap, would prefer a good espresso and a toast or fruit instead of a variety of cheap yogurts, cheeses and sausage. - the towel had the "wet smell" - sometimes you can hear toilet flushes because of the exterior pipes that are near the window (maybe this is only true for single bedroom). No fans or airconditioning in the rooms and the toilet cubicles were made for dwarves. Since bathroom is shared I would add a mirror and some hucks in the bedroom. Nothing else to add. lack of air-conditioning, very noisy street even during the night. Too quiet for a hostel (You need to whisper). The rooms close to the road are noisy and hot. A ceiling fan would have helped a lot. Because the building of the hostel is aged, there are not enough natural light even in the day time, other then that the location and everything else is very good for tourist. The breakfast was too basic. The shared toilets and showers.
