Very friendly and responsive staff, great location just off the Ramblas, cash machine outside the door, balcony as promised - a very small one, but this is typical Barcelona style, it was good enough for 2 people to sit and enjoy some cava + jamon serrano in the wee hours... Good large screen TV, a surprise! And open WiFi with great reception, excellent! Also they let us into the room two hours early (at noon) when we arrived, and let us keep our suitcases (locked with chains) during a few hour. all reviews »
Location is great, just off the Ramblas between Liceu Opera House and the Boqueria Market with a metro stop (line 3) 1 minutes walk from the front door. Close to the Gothic Quarter, lots of eating places and shops. A great bakery a couple of doors down.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Simple room (single bed with shower) but clean and quiet. Room facilities including a hair dryer and air con/heating unit which worked. Computer in common room with free wi-fi.
Would stay here again.
Location. Freindly staff. Gave me the room at 930 AM.room was very quiet
and was cleaned every day. They also changed towels. There was extra
blanket, hair drier telephon and ac. Balcony with view to the street. 24
hour reception free wi - they give password to guest. A very good and

Good price. Very good location close to La Rambla, metro Liceu, but at quiet street. Located on the 1st and 2nd floor of 4 floor building. Convenient lift transporting luggage from the 1st to the 2nd floor. It was November and heating was available.
The location was excellent and within walking distance of the pedestrian thoroughfare, shops, restaurants, attractions. The balcony looked out onto the square. The staff were very friendly.
The location is perfect if you are to stay in the very center of Barcelona. 1-2 minutes away from la Rambla. The building itself has a lot of character that fits with the surroundings.

The cleaning staff are very good, I had my doubts when I first entered

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were a small group of friends arriving to Barcelona at different times and so booked a double occupancy room on the first night, and a triple the second night thinking we would check out of the first room and check in the next morning, but the staff immediately put us into the triple room.

The beds are hard, just a medium-thickness mattress on hard wood (the bed is normal height). Take this into consideration if you have back problems. I suffered a little, but most of the time it didn't bother me at all.

Small and so important: dont have elavator but they do have elevator to
baggage. Smoke smell at the corridor but not in the room. The water flow
was thin in the shower. The forniture were old but the shower was
renovated.
Very small room + bathroom on 10 m2 only (single).
Sometimes you can meet prostitutes, homeless or begging people around the hostel.

A warning about the area night time: I liked the atmosphere and would come back again, but If you are not found of shabby areas look elsewhere - there were 5-6 people sleeping in the yard below my window, someone was urinating on the church wall in front of the hostel, plenty of prostitutes in the streets nearby, etc.
The fact that you have to pay a deposit of €10 for each of the Tv
controller and the safe is annoying.
No bedside lights, no way to close bathroom door.
We arrived late at night and it was difficult to communicate with the person on the desk...but this was Spain where Spanish is the language so it was really our inability to speak Spanish.
Having to hand your safe key in to reception every time you left the building! Felt very uneasy doing so! A lot of pickpockets around the area the hotel is in.
The room may have had some fridge to keep bevareges (water to be specific) cool.

Very basic accommodation. The building was very old, lacked proper maintenance and the bathroom door did not lock nor close properly.
The price was too high for such small room without windows. ( 65!!) In Madrid we got a cheaper hotel in the centre and it was much better than Hotel Ramos, which compared was pokey, narrow and noisy.
Beds were not very comfortable. We didn't recieve clean glasses over the five day stay. The shower head mount didn't work.

The room I was allocated was disappointing. The website said it would have a bath, balcony and be non-smoking. The bath was just a deep shower tray, the room faced inside onto a dull well and there was only a obscure glass screen - no balcony, no view and smelled of cigarette smoke!.
