The hotel is in a quiet street so there's no problem getting to sleep at night or having a lie in in the morning. Only a 10 minute walk to the bars, clubs and restaurants of Barri Gotic and la Rambla and there's metro stop Arc de Triomf 2 minutes away so it's easy to go out, safe to walk home at night and in close proximity to a beautiful park and the beach. We took a superior room so we had a small outdoor conservatory that was simply luxurious and the high-tech shower for two was great. Impec.
all reviews » We were happily surprised. It is a low profile hotel. No grand entrance, but home like. The room was spacious, clean, newly styled, comfortable with a wonderful balcony view of the city. The hotel is about a block away from a beautiful archway and walkway, not covered on the bus tours. The neigherhood is safe and there is life going on up until 2:00 a.m., but it does not disturb the guests. We loved it. This hotel can accomodate those with who walk with a cane/walker. Just inquire with . - great location, just five minutes from Placa de Catalunya, therefore within walking distance from a lot of main touristic sights - La Rambla, Port Vell, Barri Gotic, Passeig de Gracia and its Casa Battló and La Pedrera - very nice and helpful staff - nice spacious room, basic, IKEA style, very clean - good value for money. Extremely friendly staff, easily made all my problems fade away (settling to the hotel at night, loosing the key from my room, extra tea/coffee, etc.). Very convenient location, 5 min from Placa Cataluna. Made almost all the sightseeing without using the metro. Clean & cozy room, was satisfied 100%. The location is excellent. Virtually on the same road as placa catalunya, where you can get a shuttle bus straight to the airport. Also very close to the metro lines. Friendly and helpful owners. Fabulous location. Hotel is based in an old spanish apartment building. The rooms however have been renovated and fiitted out well. Would stay there again. Nothing. Don't expect any facilities - there is no restaurant/kitchen (although there are coffee machines in the room and a supermarket right accross the road). We saw into the standard rooms while they were being cleaned and the size difference was striking - definitely take a superior room. The sulfer smell that woke me up when I went to brush my teeth each morning. But, I only spelled in when standing before the sink in the bathroom. - walls were paper thin, so you could hear what was going on in another rooms and vice versa... plus close to the hotel there is obviously metro or railway, because you could hear and feel (= room shaking a little) every time the metro was passing by - reception open only from 10 am to 10 pm. Nothing. &Gt; the aircon made some noise, but with the right combination of buttons, it was fine. Really not a problem at all... No remarkes on that. Can hear the metro and traffic in room we were staying but it is bearable. Not if you are a light sleeper!. The hotel does not have a 24hour reception. This means that if you arrive after 10pm you need to check yourself in using a code. We received the email telling us this rather late and ended up outside the hotel at 11.30pm with no access to our room. Luckily, the telephone number provided worked and we spoke to the owner who gave us the security code to enter. nothing. I thought it was a great budget hotel, I just did not like the location, and how dark it was after hours. The rest of the building which the hotel is in is in bad repair and there is noise intrusion. The hotel itself and rooms are very nice. My room was with backyard view and because of its proximity with restaurant's kitchen it was very noisy. The noise is the only thing I didn't like. thin walls (if the neighbours are noisy then you will hear them). Was a little bit noisy on weekdays as faces a busy road. not easy to find. The cleaner could have been a bit more thorough. Noisy area, old windows lovely but not good at keeping traffic noise out. Would say it was more like rooms to rent rather than a hotel. entrance to hotel is an old building,rather uninviting,the bedroom was lovely but,as we pointed out to reception lady ,the smell in the room was terrible! ruined our night sorry. the shower leaked. There is another room on the picture. We were given the room which was much smaller than we wanted. The second room was tiny and without daylight. The ac was working on 16c but not functioning properly, it was too hot. In an old building. Not really a hotel. More like a hostel. Could smell the sewer when you entered the building. Rooms were small and could hear street noise and other guests,. Chose the superior room, wasnt quite as nice as I expected. very noisy neighbours on the floor above (private apartment?) played very loud music all night. Just a little bit basic for us. There was a strange intermittent buzzing noise thru the night. all other. Extremely small showers. Dilapidated building. Teeny rooms. Does not come close to it's pictures.
