We booked the Victoria and Alfred Guest House randomly because it was close to Port Elisabeth Airport. We just wanted a pad for the night but it exceed expectations with a very comfortable room and en suite facilities, helpful staff and a splendid breakfast. The shops, waterfront, restaurants and a welcoming golf course were a short drive away. The staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The manager phoned to find out what time we'd be checking in, and if there was anything special we'd like in the minibar. My wife wasn't feeling well, and he arranged a special vegetarian meal for us.The room was great, the service excellent and the food was delicious.
all reviews » The owners are very friendly and eager to please their guests. The staff are always helpful as well. Breakfast is a full English breakfast with lighter fare is desired. The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed. The B&B is 2km from PLZ, Port Elizabeth airport, so very convenient for early morning flights. The staff were sooo friendly. I lost my keys and they all bent over backwards to accommodate me by staying open later than planned and doing everything to find the key - which they did! (haha - left it in the rental car!) I highly recomend the A&E. Wonderful, friendly service!. very nice old House with pool, BBQ area under trees and the location is reasonable, about 5 km from the beach. No milk in the rooms. the outside light at the entrance to the room, the very grainy television picture and the noise from taking off and landing aircraft. Getting up too early for breakfast. Its a bit spartan, isnt it, having a 9am deadline for breakfast?. Most people, when they are travelling and relaxing prefer to have a slighly later deadline, say 10am. none. nothing. Tv handset did not work. Light in bathroom broken (lamp missing). Shower water uncontrollable and insufficient.
