  The staff were naturally friendly and helpful ~ for example I had requested halal meat for breakfast and it was provided. I liked the relaxed ambience ~ it was like travelling back to my younger pre-digital era days ~ I could see Hemingway deciding to write a novel there and enjoying it ~ that said, I appreciated the free wifi facility. Above all,... what people say » the bed was comfortable, the shower was excellent and the breakfast was tasty! - The staff was friendly and very helpful. Although I had to leave at 4am on my check out day, I found breakfast ready for me at that ungodly hour. I love the location, it's within walking distance of the best places in Cape Town and public transport too (especially my favourite MyCiTi bus).

  This hotel lived up to all our expectations and more. We arrived at 10.30am and expected to just leave our luggage, but we were given our room straight away. All the staff were very accommodating and the room was very pleasant. The road was bellow our room but we did not hear any noise at all. A lovely big bath was a treat. We would like to have stayed longer. - The staff is extremely knowledgable and friendly, the hotel is almost a B&B but with private facilities, easy to walk to most in town attractions, excellent breakfast very good and convenient before the start to the day, good connection to WIFI. They also have a good network of local experts if you are looking for a guide (ask for Domingo)

  The backpack was a really comfortable and welcoming place to stay. The common areas were laid back & relaxed and the place was very clean. Location was great & just a short walk from the top of Long Street and some good restaurants. Waterfront was a decent walk or a fairly quick taxi ride. Compared to some friends who were staying at numerous backpackers in and around Long Street, this sounded superior & I would definitel - It was my second time at this hostel and I came back three years later because I liked it. Apart from it being excellent for what is officially a backpackers place I really appreciate the attitude of owners and staff who are supporting community projects and take recycling seriously, something that is still not very wide spread in South Africa. Excellent Sandwiches and breakfast.
