A large atrium with comfortable lounge areas and a service bar is open for guests to relax, watch sport or news or to sit and read. This area opens up onto the splash pool with a beautiful view of the Knysna lagoon and surrounding green hills. At Le Spa Tranquill, guests can enjoy treatments ranging from shower scrubs to hot stone therapy. The pool deck is almost all surrounded by the lagoon and offers a great way of digesting a day of spa. Knysna Golf Club is less than 15 minutes of driving from the hotel. The Knysna Waterfront with its bars and restaurants is within 1 km.

The location is wonderful, and the relaxed atmosphere was perfect. The service is great - Our water was not very hot the first night (probably something i was not doing correctly) and they fixed it while we were out having breakfast. The spa right next door is a bonus and a must visit if you're having a relaxing weekend. Excellent pool deck with stunning views. Fabulous wines available from the "honesty bar"-a lovely touch. Breakfast voicher at ile de pains bakery round the corner is absolutely fab-a brilliant idea and stunningly delicious food with great reputation and atmosphere.

The hotel was nothing like i've ever seen before - so unique. The apartment was really really spacious. The apartment was very very clean. The accommodation was soooo quiet and relaxing. Beautiful area with the charm of modern architecture and a leasure lifstyle although the history and info on the street posters reminds you of the history of Thesen Island. Beautiful location, fantastic service, design of the rooms is state of the art, excellent staff - they really understand how to provide a memorable experience. Location is ideal The bar area right on the water is an absolute delight Staff are really friendly and helpful. The room was a neat set-up and huge. I loved staying on the island and felt very safe walking around. Friendly staff, amazing building in a great location. We were given an absolutely stunning room. Receptionists were extremely helpful . I would visit this place again. Staff was top notch. Spacious rooms with self-catering facilities and good restaurants within walking distance. I like the decor and design of the place and its location. The limited amount of internet access you receive. We were only given one code for one device (but lets face it, these days we all live on the internet on whether on our phones or a computer or tablet). There was a very bad (Drainage) smell in the room. We had to travel a distance to enjoy the Sea!! Buffelsbay. The pool was never available while we were there - always being cleaned. There were planks of wood everywhere - even one in the shower which sometimes meant you bumped your head. There are only side views of the sea from the room. None. Size of the pool. There was an annoying beeping sound on the Sunday morning from outside, the soundproofing in general isn't great The fridge was set way too cold and froze anything we put inside. The ladder up the loft needs some traction strips. The wood is very slippery. Nothing negative about this hotel. Nothing. We were in the room upstairs beside the bakery and the smell of baking was quite strong. Nothing, booked for next year !. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Having to leave at the end of our stay. Changed from B&B to Bed only. Our room was large and comfortable but to get a shower had awkward access. That we're rather mean with their breakfast voucher which was valid at an excellent restaurant nearby. When booking you get the feel that you will be overlooking the lagoon, however this is not case (in the room we stayed in) - it overlooked a very noisy carpark! If you are a light sleeper this place is NOT for you, we could hear our neighbours talking, their tv, we could even hear snooring, so we did not get a good nights sleep! Also I took a shower in the morning and then there was no hot water for my husband. That the air-con/heating units were not working, which turned our loft into a beautifully designed walk-in refrigerator. Your staff came to look at it, said it takes 15 minutes to heat up and then never got back to us. We mentioned this upon departure and, aside from an "oh sorry", got nothing more in terms of compensation.
