  Absolutely everything. Friendly and helpful staff, relaxed atmosphere, thoughtful design of the rooms, location - Setting was spectacular. Privacy was welcome. Staff were very helpful.

  the restaurant was fantastic and the rooms/grounds of the hotel were gorgeous. We were a little worried because we were in the smallest room in the place but it was a lovely room, so no complaints there - The quality of service and efficiency of all teh saftt, very impressive indeed !!!!

  It's a five minute walk up to all the restaurants and from where the wine tram departs, perfect. It is really small but with Real quality and attention to detail. The public areas and our room were beautiful. Small touches like a decanter of sherry in the room, plus exquisite puddings left in the room at turn-down really give the place an opulent... what people say » feel. Guest care is great too; they'll book restaurant tables for you, recommend/explain the styles of cuisine etc etc. - The hotel is beautiful and perfectly located. The staff was friendly and always helpful. We enjoyed the stay so much that we booked two extra nights.The manager recommended restaurants, trips etc. We couldn't ask for a better stay and hospitality. We felt very spoiled and will definitely return.

  My wife and I spent five nights at the Akademie. We stayed in Ooirtgung Cottage (spelling probably not correct) which has a lot of history and is very charming; slightly secluded from the main house and other cottages it was perfect. Katherine could not have been more welcoming or helpful, she gave us lots of useful and is clearly a font of all k... what people say » nowledge, not just about franschhoek but the surrounding areas too. Breakfast was fantastic; plentiful (need to diet now) and a real treat. Staff wer - -the room was just perfect: bright, clean, excellent furnitures taste. - home made food for breakfast - complementary drinks and snacks in the room - availability of the staff - perfect location in the city center

  The staff were totally fabulous - friendly, helpful and always happy /willing to help. The food was of a very high standard especially Breakfast - one of the best we have ever had and we have travelled a lot.
