I stayed 1 night at Travellers Lodge, the employee was very nice, he permitted us to park our car 3 hours prior the check-in and he allowed to check out the next day afternoon. The location was near to everything, to the museum, the the shops. Perfectly clean and friendly. For people who want to enjoy Franschhoek and not the hotel is the best option. It did not bother me at all that it did not offer breakfast. you can find nice places and have breakfast. My husband and myself enjoyed our stay t. all reviews »
Position, position. You can park you car and walk.to all the facilities, take the Wine Tram and eat the excellent restaurants or visit the many interesting galleries and shops in Main road. Very good value for money compared to the incredibly overpriced other accommodation in Franschhoek. BUT NB you get what you pay for.
This is not luxury but this leaves extra cash to eat out and enjoy the very pretty area. The staff were great and helpful and extremely friendly.
For what I paid, the cost was good. The hotel was also very central and within walking distance of the venue holding the conference I was attending. The place was clean and neat. It is a low-budget place, but I was surprised at the quality of the facilities. Also they upgraded my room at no extra cost.
The atmosphere was very relaxed, friendly and accommodating. The Lodge has a really home-like feel to it. The staff were incredibly helpful and willing to go the extra mile to ensure that the individual needs were met. It was wonderful value for money.

the room was clean, clean bedlinen etc. Good place if you are just using it for a place to sleep munless you are a backpacker looking for budget accomadation.
Very clean and fresh. ! Very reasonable.! Just needed a bed to sleep in for one night , after a wedding so very reasonably priced.
Not too much to say, only that the reception was open only on specific hours and if you needed smth earlier or later you had to make a call.

The noise coming from the next room. I could hear the people in the next room, and what they were getting up to, which was not pleasant.
I stayed in a room downstairs which was comfortable, clean and perfectly adequate. However, on the second night I was there, people were staying in the dormitories upstairs. And with the wooden, un-carpeted floors their movements - which went on until after midnight - kept me awake which was most unfortunate.
Could not obtain a key easily... as didn't see the notice on the door, as it was open. My husband and friend were very frustrated., as in a rush for a wedding.
No soap in the bathrooms .. a small bar of soap would have been nice. No towels!
Should have a sign from the mainroad ... more visible., for directions.
Bit of confusion as to which bathrooms are for males and females.
Room was very cold with no heater.
