  Manaar House is definitely one of the best places to stay in Durban/Umhlanga. We stayed there for three nights in the self Catering Apartment. The a/c duplex unit was extremely spacious, spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and well maintained. Not a single word of criticism worth mentioning here, except maybe that it is located pretty close to the ... what people say » motorway, so having breakfast on the large roof terrace might become a bit noisy. But the best thing to report was the warm, generous and very welcomi - As a couple with young kids, it was an absolute dream staying at Manaar House as it was so kid friendly that our kids did not want to go out because of the toys provided in our section of the house! They had so much fun & were so comfortable and as parents, that mattered most to us. The views from the kids rooms were phenomenal & they absolutely loved it!   Room exceptionally clean,staff very warm and helpful.Breakfast server with a smile by Your friendly chefs and staff. l would have rated excellent on facilities,but telephone was not working and had to go downstairs to order room service which was a nightmare. Food server was horrible,given wrong order drink,to top it all,it was delivered 1/30(one ... what people say » and half) hout after l ordered,had to use ny cellphone to het it as it was very late and was tired of walking to and fro. That spoilt My whole stay as - The staff was very friendly and warm. We were treated very well. The location of the hotel was very central to most tourist attractions and there was a great vibe. The breakfast was very nice as well. The hotel was ideal for a family as the fridge, kettle with beverages and sink plus microwave was a bonus as it made it possible to save on costs by not having to eat out and enjoy meals in the hotel, appreciating the views in the dining area. The hotel gets a 10/10 from me and i really got value
