Room exceptionally clean,staff very warm and helpful.Breakfast server with a smile by Your friendly chefs and staff. l would have rated excellent on facilities,but telephone was not working and had to go downstairs to order room service which was a nightmare. Food server was horrible,given wrong order drink,to top it all,it was delivered 1/30(one and half) hout after l ordered,had to use ny cellphone to het it as it was very late and was tired of walking to and fro. That spoilt My whole stay as.
all reviews » The staff was very friendly and warm. We were treated very well. The location of the hotel was very central to most tourist attractions and there was a great vibe. The breakfast was very nice as well. The hotel was ideal for a family as the fridge, kettle with beverages and sink plus microwave was a bonus as it made it possible to save on costs by not having to eat out and enjoy meals in the hotel, appreciating the views in the dining area. The hotel gets a 10/10 from me and i really got value . welcoming from staff, showing us to our room how to open the doors assistance with the luggage, complimentary drink in the fridge, rooms were clean, less noise ,sea views, breakfast was super we are going there again dec time as a group now , family rooms spacious clean towels what can I say? I got more than what I expected I have reffered my colleques,friends n the rest of the family belaire beats most of the hotels and its reasonable. The only downside was the problem I encountered when I checked in. I was not given the accomodation I booked a month in advance on letsbookhotel.com. When I complained the staff were at first not helpful and I had to insist that I will not accept anything else, and only than was i given what I paid for. Think the reception staff were a bit difficult on the whole, but all other staff were friendly and helpful. Firstly the reservations manager Matsita Potlaki, was extremely helpful.She arranged that my kids get booked in early which really made things a lot easier.the hotel is conveniently situated and the 3 bedroom suite is spacious for a family of 5. we clould walk to the beach,Ushaka Land, Suncoast Casino, movies,etc,all the restuarants. There was no need to travel anywhere which is a huge saving on petrol. the staff was amazing, friendly and welcoming, especialy one of the lady in reception, Nqobile, she calmed me down the day before when i was panicing about Bookinf.com not debiting my account, and when i checked in she re-assured me that all was well, the room was up to standard and was beyond our expectations, you would swear it was a five star.Thank you to Management and everyone else at Belaire. Location was superb on the promenade at the best end of the beach within easy reach of the Suncoast centre and a great view from the bedroom window. Staff were very friendly, smiling and helpful. Great buffet breakfast with lots of things to choose from - nice little restaurant incorporated in the hotel with excellent food. Gave us a great packup to take back on the coach to Joburg free of charge. The staff where excellent especially the receptionist. The rooms are specious, and the view is to die for. I stay fairly often in Durban North Beach and Belair was a great combination of value, location and quality. The restaurant is great, breakfast was very good, the staff were amazing, I paid a reasonable sum for a late checkout as I was leaving at 7pm. The Hotel shuttle from the airport stops at the hotel (70 Rand); the public bus (people mover) for the city stops behind the hotel; supermarket close to the hotel; and a good coffe shop/bar/restaurant is in the ground floor. The price is very good and gives you value for money.It is right on the beachfront and walking distance from the casino with all its restuarants.The rooms are neat and comfortable and spacious.2 X small rugs on either side of the bed would however make a huge difference.Working table for business people a huge plus point. I like the location indeed and the restaurant downstairs makes it look even more relaxed and trendy. Justin was cool too, not too square but professional. Lastly the room had a fantastic view and a good idea to ND filter the windows for early morning sunlight. The 2km walk from the Moses Mabhida was also excellent. This was not provided for upon checking in. After e mailing a complaint to the manager, Jacqui the assistant manager dealt with and resolved the issue promptly. Conveniently located, value for money, courteous staff, would stay there again. friendly staff especially Justin and others except for one cant remember his name. flexibility that allowed me to make changes to my bookings through letsbookhotel.com, house keeping was excellent, accommodation and breakfast was just beautiful at such a good price, i'll love to come back again. I went down to Durban to run the comrades marathon 2013. The price of less than 2000 for three nights breakfast included in a four star hotel was unbelievable. What impressed me more than anything was to see myself in the same hotel with the two Russian twins. Friendly. We had some issues as to some of one of our deposits that went missing and also being quoted a figure to pay for the whole stay and later being told that there was still an outstanding balance. Peter was great he met with us and resolved the matter. Staff all good, front desk orginized a public taxi to give us a City tour 6 hours €100 great value, visited new shopping mall in Umhlanga the Gateway only 10 minutes away. Room service which took one and half hour to be delivered with wrong drink and fook horrible with burnt cashews( Spicy chicken salad with cashews...) telephones not working,read from above. The only thing i would have improved is perhaps some carpets or rugs put in the rooms just to create a little bit of warmth and maybe pillows that were not too high.nothing. My stay hear was excellent. Nothing to report here!. Nothing. The airconditioner was great but if felt faulty as it was making 'breakdown noices' every say 15 or 20 minutes. The restaurant next door (I dont know if its part of the Belaire) has the worst service I have ever come across, both times I have gone there I have waited so long to be served that I walked out. Doors make a noise when closing which can be a disturbance. No covered parking. was disappointed with the internet facility , first in a 4 star hotel I expect internet facility to be free and then I had my doubts whether your 100mb was actually so because once you log out ad you want to log in after a while, you are told you are out of bandwidth. The streets were a bit noisy at night, although you could only hear this when the windows were open. There were ants in the room around kitchennette and on floors. Cleaning service could be improved and also reception could be more friendly and welcoming.Your porter however made up for reception,his attitude was very good and he was always very helpful . Cleaners did not clean behind the front door. 1. There was no telephone in the room but we were told that it will be installed immediately. Replenishing the breakfast buffet was not well managed. The hotel provides a microwave oven, refrigerator and kettle etc. in a "mini kitchen" but why were there no crockery and cutlery provided? That is illogical. The chandeliers need to be dusted, and the fridge with the cakes has a bright light that is disturbing to dinners in the evening...perhaps it should be moved to a less obvious place. We could hear our neighbors talking - this was an issue. I put pillows at the door for a bit of sound proofing. The bathroom design was a bit dysfunctional, they didn't offer CNN on the TV and Wi Fi was not included. They sold Wi Fi by MG's which for me is meaningless. Either include it, which is best, or sell it in terms of time, not MG's. . Not all the staff were friendly. The room could have been cleaner when we arrived. The room received initially had not been that which had been pre-booked and paid for (hence wasting a bit of time within a tightly planned schedule), however Bellaire had made amends by allocating a room accordingly. The parking is a bit of an inconvinience as the gate is on the street and the gate once opened only give a little time move before closing on it's own. The phone was not working for two days The airconditioner is loud. - Some staff at reception might need more training. - The service at the restaurant was not good. - The room service was very poor. Order took 1½ hours to deliver to our room. Some waiters are not properly trained. - Not enough cupboard space for clothes. - No place to hang up wet clothes. The food in the adjoining restaurant was horrible and had to be sent back. I reordered and the second plate was even worse. Room at the elevator very noisy but somebody has to stay close to the elevator, that won't put me off visiting the Hotel again. I think they might have to budget to do a upgrade later as the bedroom decor could be getting a bit tired.
