The location cannot be beaten, just a few meters away from the ocean in a very safe area. And yet, it's easy to walk into town through Green Point Park. The staff are excellent. A broken TV was replaced within 15 minutes. The room is lovely, spacious and comfortable. Wifi is working throughout the premises. The hot breakfast choices are very good. Eggs Royale were excellent. I was upgrade to a seaview room at not extra cost. The staff were beyond wonderful. Very helpful and attended to my requests immediately. Yes there is contruction next door but it really didnt hassle me. I will DEFINATELY use this hotel for my future business trips to Cape Town and will be recommending to others. Look forward to returning.
all reviews » The location was excellent and the view from our apartment was amazing. The interior design was fresh and modern! We loved to stay at La Splendida and will come back for sure!. Friendliness of staff, convenience / location of where the place is in relation to where most of my business interactions were in Cape Town, comfort of the rooms. The hotel is close to the sea front. Nice to here the waves. The place is clean and well looked after. The staff is wonderful. Good secure parking. Value for money, it doesn't get much better than this. What a fantastic little boutique hotel in the heart of Cape Town. Good location. Bar and restaurant were great with live music some evenings. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. The basin in the bathroom was to small and tiny and the lock at the main door was not working:(. Not much! I suppose not having a degree of self-catering facilities (like a microwave) as I stayed for a whole week. Nothing. There is currently major building going on right next door so its very noisey from very early in the morning. If it is at all foggy the very loud fog horn which is right next to La Splendida will sound every 30 seconds. N/A. Poor wifi in room Constution work in side building. Inaccessible wall plugs for charging laptops / phones. none. The hot water in the shower did not work. ice cold shower the morning was horrible. nothing. Construction work adjoining the hotel with associated dust, noise and workers. Not enough secure parking available. The bathroom had a terrible smell coming out the drain and I alerted the reception to this before we went out. They said they would fix it. When we got home the smell was even worse and we had to put a wet towel over the shower drain to keep the smell out. We also closed the bathroom door. We were in room 104. Internet connection was slow and the window of my room was not properly fixed so when strong winds blow, the room was noisy and difficult to sleep. The room was not very clean - balcony very dirty with no chairs to sit on. Shower smelled of dampness. Bar Fridge made a loud noise - we had to switch it off. It is not your fault, but the construction close to the hotel won't do good to you. Construction site next door that I wasn't aware of when I booked as it was not mentioned on any website. Very noisy. Tap water from bath was yellow, told me they would sort it out the next day but was still the same. Dirty cup in room (cup and spoon stuck to saucer), had to ask for normal coffee in room. They promised a voucher for free accommodation when the building is completed next door but I haven't heard anything further about it. Maybe it will still happen?. Think you could have a face cloth in the bathroom!. The room which was sea facing and the more expensive option was directly above the restaurant and had very little privicy. There was construction ongoing. The building was extremely noisy. The pictures do not truely reflect the Hotel. All in all we had a very bad experience and will definately not go back!.
