The location of the hotel was perfect for us as we wanted to spend most of our time in the amazing Gardens by the Bay (new to us) and exploring the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. The outside of the Fullerton is stunning - just as we had been told it would be. The inside was lovely too, and beautifully maintained. We had asked for a large bed so they gave us a very large split-level room, with a king-size bed, massive bathroom and separate toilet. Pity we could only afford to stay one night! We were ab.
all reviews » We spent three nights at the Fullerton on out way to Bali as part of our 25th wedding anniversary. We arrived early in the morning so our room wasn't ready, we were offered an upgrade package with a twin level room overlooking the Marina, Champagne breakfast, afternoon tea and champagne with canapés in the evening. Would highly recommend, not cheap but something very special for our anniversary. Location of the hotel is perfect, Marina at the front and river at the back. The swimming pool is. The level of service was exemplary from the moment we entered the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a harbour view suite on arrival. The room was absolutely gorgeous, another one of those places where you don't really want to check out. The attention to detail is second to none. Unlike the tourist trap that is Raffles, this really is an elegant, luxurious and mature hotel with a firm eye on level of service. The building (formally the Singapore Post Office) was built in 1928. I still can remember the view I looked out from the window in that room is awesome, especially at night. Lights are everywhere, on the road, in the river ... I love it so much. Of course the room was very comfortable and tidy. The stuffs were very kind and helpful. The room we had originally was quite nice apart from the noise as stated in - 'what didn't you like' but the room we were moved to was excellent. We really appreciated being moved away to a more peaceful location which was actually an upgrade. Many thanks for accommodating our request to be moved and for the upgrade. I've been a long time guest at the fullerton because of its sentimental value to me. And thru this times I can see how the hotel treated me not just a guest but more like a friend. Nothing....; ). nothing!. I liked everything!!!. nothing. The room had a stale odour to it as we could not open the windows due to our room location. The carpets in the room were starting to look and feel worn and contribute to the stale air. Breakfast was not very good although there was a vast choice. Fried breakfast was overlooked, Asian choices were poorly executed. Absolutely nothing. It is very luxurious but pricey for a mature couple. Nothing besides the price a bit on the high side. Food and beverages seemed overpriced. A couple of the junior dinning room staff did not understand my request (in English) but instead of asking a colleague for help, they delivered us the wrong thing - twice. Easier to get help then to make two errors?. Marina Bay room was a bit noisy - the other side would be quieter. Food, especially breakfast, is very expensive. We have had comparable breakfasts at hotels around the world for half the price. The mark ups on alcohol were exorbitant. Come on guys! At least a 7 x mark up on Tiger Beer, for example!. pillows-they do have a menue for them but it took a while to find ones firm enough. None. They charged my can of bear , even I myself ,spent ＄600/night. There was the point where the room was not clean. The sound of the air-conditioner was too loud. Make sure you ask for a room with natural light as many do not have this. Drinks (especially) and food are very expensive. we didn't know how to work the shower head (the big one). None. Room was very damp, needed to ask for a dehumidifier. First night very uncomfortable, and not expected in a premium hotel. The only observations would be that the furniture in the bedroom and the carpet in the hall way is looking dated. Otherwise super stay!. Nothing. a little expensive. The stay was actually to celebrate my 3rd anniversary and the hotel promise to decorate my room but it turns out to be nothing because they allocate the room to me at a very last minute. The price of a simple beer at the pool was rediculous at $20.00, I don't care what the reason for that is , it's just wrong. Especially when you could go to the supermarket and by a 6 pack for that price which is what I did. The Straights club was good but they didn't tell us we could have complementry cocktails as well as beer and wine till the last day and there were no cocktail lists on the tables, which to me was clearly to stop you from ordering them for free. no thing thank you for all thing. When we went for high tea having to ask to place our order and for spoons for the dessert. The hairdryer in the room and the cost of alcohol. Breakfast prices were a little excessive.
