excellent housekeeping response on call for assistance and requests. very warm and friendly reception staff and immediate to attend to our needs sometimes even without even asking for it. like, when i was wet from the rain while doing my check out stuff, she immediately handed me a towel to dry myself...that was a very kind gesture that i really appreciate. I just forgot to ask her name, i wanted to thank her for being so nice..hope the management will commend her.
all reviews » Great hotel, excellent location above the MRT station, Chinatown with many restaurants just around the corner. Excellent staff, very nice, friendly and helpful. The swimming pool is relatively big (ca. 20m distance for swimming, plus adjacent pool for relaxing, although only 1.20m deep). I received a very good price for this nice hotel, probably because the hotel is new and after only 3 months not yet fully booked. Location was excellent , right next to outram mrt. Staff excellent. Had a problem with the fridge , called reception ,with 10 minutes there was a bloke there to see to it. Manager goes around checking that everyone's happy. Pool and Gym fabulous. Room spacious and clean. Arrived early after a very long flight, let us in early. Very happy with this hotel. Great hotel, excellant location, lovely rooms, close to MRT. I did find it quite pricey, but after comparing it to other hotels (location, facilities, and the fact that it is brand new) I thought it was a good deal. I did appreciate the room upgrade. We did have the breakfast as Chinatown was a 10 min walk away and cost us $5!. It was a clean new hotel with a great location just above the Outram Park MRT station. The hotel staff was very attentive to all requests and were quick to resolve a problem especially when my travelling mate was locked out of her room with the door latched from inside. Less than half an hour the problems was all solved!. I adored the overall design of the room, the view was also great . Practically can see the whole cdb area. A lot of great eateries nearby. And chill out places in keong saik n club street. No problem wf transport as well as its near the train stn. U can even walk further up to quaint neighbourhood of spottinwood park ;). The hotel wad newly opened in March 2013 and the design is so elegance and modernized. The location is just so staregic and the MRT station (Outram Park) is just a minute walk. I was so impressed by the hotel staffs and they were very friendly and attentive to serve me!! It's a highly recommended hotelin. Location was brilliant being able to work to Chinatown, lots of restaurants near by, MRT right there. 20-min walk to the river and Boat and Clark Quay. Lovely staff who were so helpful. Even though we had a confirmed double room it was not available on our arrival however we were quickly put into a double room designed for wheelchair use so gave us a larger bathroom and floor space. All round, everything you would expect, and a bit more. The hotel is new, so rooms and public spaces are in superb condition. When you book through booking .com.for 2 adults 1 child You think your getting 3 beds but really getting 1 bed for 3 people and the dorrset then tell you you'll have to pay an extra $70 for an extra bed. The dorsett did however give us 3 beds for the same price when they found my daughter asleep on the lobby couch. The hotel cafe/lounge . The operating hours as stated is till 2 am. We wanted to have a drink at 10 pm but was told it was closed. .Major disappointment. No negative experience. None. Rooms are on the small side. The visit was a stopover on way to Aust and was very tired, workers working on one of the floors started to use grinding machine or jack hammer far too early and it sounded like it was in room next door. I did not like that but appreciate that the maintenance has to be done sometimes. When I first checked in to the hotel, there was a misunderstanding about the room rate. I'm not quite sure what happened but it's different from the rate that I booked here. Regardless the staff sorted it quickly. Just make sure you talk to the right person. Room service finishes at 10.30pm and there are no restaurants just outside the hotel for a quick meal at tat time of night. Reception was very warm in the afternoon, no air conditioning there?. The air cond on 4th floor was not working properly. the controller keeps jumping back to 26 deg cel and it was so warm. At 4 am we called for assistance. The engineering team came within 5 min. Next day we received calls to come in to do maintenance for the entire floor. They are efficient alright. Bathroom layout; should seal up completely the front of wash basin area so not visible from sleeping area for privacy when using the bathroom. Breakfast is not included in the hotel price and room size could be bigger considering the price of the room. Room is a bit too small. Poor views from rooms. Hard to find taxi. But its not a problem since there's MRT next to it. Water temperature of the shower was insufficient - not hot enough. Nothing to dislike. No milk caps in room, only powder packs, no small table for cups etc, larger rooms need two chairs, no comfortable chairs. The electronic switches are not explained on the wall, even had trouble accessing reception on the phone! Tricky to have to start reading the handbook, when you arrive at midnight! The house staff do not understand english for minor requests. nothing, really. There is nothing close within walking distance. The rooms were quite small (we had a twin single). Lobby's air freshener is too strong. I love the smell but my husband got dizzy. Pappasan restaurant price / quality ratio is a bit off. There were some hair threads when we arrived. The bathroom door and the shower door is the same, so you have a bit lack of privacy. Considering the prices in singapore, i would stay there again. The swimming pool is open, people on the street may look up and see you. Breakfast ok, but not really great value. Air Condition was too hot on first night, swimming pool closed at 9.00 at night, would be nice if open till late. Cups in the room had stained. Bathroom didn't have space/shelf to put toiletries on. Noisy drain. Hot and cold was a bit tricky . nothing. Layout of bathroom and lack of storage space in the bathroom. N/a. I would say nothing, but maybe they can offer better rate for the parking fee. Nothing. No breakfast included in price. -.
