The staff was very helpful. They spoke very good English and were able to help me with translation issues and directions. I had a room on the street side, which I was pleasantly surprised did not have much noise. The room was comfortable and clean. There were a couple of English speaking channels on the TV. The WIFI connection was very strong and fast. There is a grocery store near by and the Metro was at the end of the block. I will stay at this hotel on my next visit.
all reviews » I really appreciated the outstanding service that that the staff offered to us. While there, I had my passport stolen by a pickpocket on a bus and Svetlana, a staff member, took us to the police station and assisted us by acting as a translator. While enroute to the station, she gave us a running commnentary on the sights in St. Petersburg. The food in the two hotel resturants were excellent, but the one called Marius had more choices. Location is very suitable for city trip: 150 meters to metro station and Nevsky avenue. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room is well equipped excluding bathrobe. There are two good restaurants on hotel's territory but you can find a lot of them surrounding the hotel. And it's nice to have weather forecast for tomorrow every evening in your room. :-). Arrival: being met by the hotel driver, a friendly welcome and glass of sparkling wine at reception. The chocolate and weather forecast on our bedside table each evening. All the bedrooms will be quiet as none are on the road, you go through a courtyard to get to the hotel. The bed was comfortable, airconditioning efficient, bathroom just fine. There was a little bit of a smell in the hallway when you enter the building. I have nothing negative to say about the wonderfull hotel. The building is historical that's why room is not big (but enough for two) and you have to go upstairs without elevator to 3rd or 4th floor. The hotel was a little further from the centre than I anticipated; on the map it looked a short walk along Nevsky Prospekt to get to the old town whereas in fact it was a 20-30 minute walk, however the metro is just round the corner. Road traffic noise at night motor bikes and cars on main road in front of hotel. The tunnel connecting the front gate to the court yard and court yard itself can benefit from a bit more attention and be better leveraged to add charm and character. Style of single room a little old-fashioned in terms of furniture but guess this fits with the style and age of the building. I was upset with not full information about prices for taxi during booking the service what resulted in unexpectedly high price thereof. I recommend to be more transparent with guests especially in terms of their costs. Upgraded to a suite but no a la carte breakfast. We received a bottle of wine and fruit to compensate us. Buffet breakfast was great anyway. Hotel must keep equal service level no matter if trainee or permanent stuff. Unfortunately it was not the same thing while my accommodation. None. The hotel charged the cost of 1 night before we arrived, though the payment conditions did not provide for any pre-payment. Also, at the check-out the receptionist did not check her records properly to confirm that the credit card was pre-authorised. Instead she asked us whether we were sure that the card was pre-authorised, making us look bad. They should not make the guests look bad, this is a customer-oriented industry. Hotel charges us about 200 ruble per person for doing some registration which they say that it is according to their record not relating to the Russia law at all. It makes us confused. I think that the rate of even economy single room allows to have a bathrobe in this room. Breakfast time is just until 10.30 a.m. When my colleague, who I made the reservations for, was upgraded to a jr suite with a better breakfast, I complained because I wanted to join him. Instead of upgrading my breakfast, they DOWNGRADED his! I don't see how that shows customer appreciation towards either of us. price. registration fee; the room 110 is located in opposite to ventilation shaft, too noisy.
