I am working in the same industry and is great to see such a well run hotel, great staff always trying to help, great location even though not right close to the sea but with an excellent pool amenities, fitness center indoor which I did not get the chance to visit and outside fitness machines set up in the yard next to the pool. all reviews » Excellent! Venus is not bad - quiet, pretty clean, beach is very nice, water is mostly clean (there's also a huge beach at 10-15 min walking distance - South). There were also decent restaurant choices near the hotel. Venus isn't my favorite location but the location of Melodia hotel is very beautiffuly(out of Venus, nearer Cap Aurora), is quiet and much green, with another words... Relaxation. The way from the seaside is need to some investment because is savage( carriage way and the landscape, the park). The hotel does not benefit of its own beach therefore you have to "experience" an unpleasant sharing of sea side with a lot of ordinary people and an uncleaned sand beach across the street. To lease its own beach side it is a must !. Inside Melodia resort : some waiters from the restaurant are poor prepared for this job - need better selection and training before start activity. Around Melodia resort ( exterior : road, beach, green area ??? ) very poor image, a lot of garbage, and local authorities ( Mangalia administration ) should do more on cleaning aspects everywhere in Venus - no garbage containers on the beach and the cleaning on beach is missing totally. Even though they improved the way the breakfast is served (compared with last year), the food is still not at the right value and taste for a 4* hotel. The location of the hotel is not very pleasant. The beaches in Venus are not OK. The "a la carte" food from the restaurant could be better. Also, the staff from Reception could smile more often when they see the customers, hiding behind the desk is not so nice. - small size of the room - harsh bad sheets - the nearest beach from the hotel is unattended. -absence of direct access to the sea -environment around the hotel. The restaurant was pretty expensive and of course Venus is pretty deserted. Few members of the staff. Unfortunatelly in the restaurant there was no menu in english, so picking a meal is quite challenging if you do not speak romanian. Pool to croweded Rooms verry small. Reception staff and restaurant waiters weren't polite and didn't know how to smile and talk. Restaurant was nice but they hosted some party and stopped the music so that a bunch of people could talk on the microphone. They force you spend more money like for coffe,restaurant is alacart but maybe for romanian people not for me and very expensive.
