    I've booked two rooms, double bed room and single room because we were three. We had a large room with windows looking street but single room didn't have windows. It was an uncomfortable room. so my friend ended up sleeping together with us because our room was designed for maximum 4 people. It is very basic and not very good room but we had no pr... what people say » oblem during our stay. The staff did not speak English but he is very friendly and helpful. He gave another single room with window next day for my f - The location of hotel is perfect in the city center and really near to the river. The staff is super friendly and nice, always ready to help. The rooms were clean. The building was old but in a good condition. Also it was really cheap for such a service.

    Excellent location (3 mins from Sao Bento and 8 minutes from the riverside) and excellent value for money. We stayed in a private room, which was bigger than expected given the price and had a lovely city view. The hostel has a sun terrace, which we appreciated during our stay - perfect to relax over a bottle of wine if you don't fancy going out. ... what people say » The free breakfast was nothing fancy but it was good to have the option to eat in the hostel.     The location of the hostel was very close to the heart of the city and the hostel was clean and have a terrace to hang out with friends and have a drink together after a day long tour.     The room was big and bright. The bed was comfortable and clean and the bathroom as well. The shower was simply fantastic!! We had a room with the balcony with a nice view over the roofs of the neighbourhood. The staff was absolutely fantastic, they suggested nice places to have lunch and dinner and they booked a table on our behalf. Comfortable beds, clean linen, nice beside tables. In general the room is really very nice and convenient. Nice and simple design. Excellent staff always eager to help on any issues. Very quite, you can`t hear other guests. Simple though nice breakfasts in a beautifully designed living room which you are always not eager to leave.

    very nice staff, always smiling and polite, though we were partying hard, nice and clean room, everything *******, great value for money - Hotel is very cosy. It is small, clean and bright. Near to metrostation. Nabourhood also is very good and calm.

    Stayed in Wine Hostel for five nights' in late September 2013 and had absolutely great time. The staff was extremely friendly, easygoing, and willing to help you figure out your stay in Porto, smiling and obliging all the time. Common Room was lovely.     We loved Renato, one of the staff members. We loved the female host as well, but never caught her name. We also loved the Wine Room we stayed in and the design. The bed was the most comfortable bed we've slept in in Europe. We were given a glass of wine upon check in which was a great touch.     VFM. Very nice room and well located near the city centre. The owner was very friendly and helfull. Definetly will return there. - The location was really convenient. They have a very nice terrace and a garden. The dog, Godzilla, is also very friendly :)

    Excelent staff, excelent facilities, very clean and organized. It's located in the center and you can walk to go to a restaurant, to the river, to the clubs, to the monuments, etc. It's quiet if you want to rest, it has walking tours picking up tourists at the hostel, dinners cooked by the guests once a week and it has social/night events if you w... what people say » ant to enjoy your trip in that way. A good continental breakfast until 10 am. I met wonderful people there and I made friends (guests and staff) that - This hostel was really the best I've ever seen! It was clean as much as possible and it has everything you need. They provide safe places to stay at a reasonable price. So close to the main metro stations, city center and historical places! Staffs were helpful. Besides, they serve free city trips with many guides who speak lot of languages. So, it was perfect :)

    The staff was excellent, very helpful, honest respecting our previous arrangements, the hostel very clean located in the centre, close to the metro station, very good kitchen facilities, no problems with preparing your own meals; breakfast was always fresh, not limited, tea/coffee available 24 hours for free.     We received a genuine, warm, friendly welcome from the owners. They were always checking to see if we needed something. From the welcoming glass of port, explinations of the area and in doing us several favors, they were extremely generous with their time and familiarity with the area. Our room was very clean, quiet and private. THE most comfortabl - I can not fault Hostel Gaia Porto! The owners were amazing. So welcoming and friendly!     Let's start listing the things!! The owners: Raquel and Pedro are the best! The atmosphere is simply amazing, it looks modern and innovative! The kitchen and bar area is always clean and the social area always have people in it! The showers and bedrooms are always clean. The beds are super comfortable and I slept like a baby for the week I stayed ... what people say » there!!!! I actually went back to Portugal again a few weeks later to visit again. STAY HERE :) - Nick - Cheap, modern, young knowledgeable staff, bar inside, friendly travelers. The receptionist which also owns the place knows so much about Oporto (bars, discos, sights, museums etc) and is always willing to give directions on a map everyday. You get a waterproof band that grants you access to the hostel and your room.

    Sky hostel is AMAZING!!! It truly has everything you could want from a hostel, including little things like a salad strainer in the kitchen (first hostel I've seen with one of these) and individual lamps and plugs by each bed in the rooms. Big picture though, it's simply awesome because it is very cozy, has a great living room, and kitchen, free... what people say » computer you can use with Internet, and it's very clean, safe and well located. To top it all the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I've st - The location is very good, you have 2 metro stations near it and you can easily walk to several places like "Aliados" or "Casa da Música". The staff is very friendly and helps with good hints on how to get somewhere. The whole place was very clean. The breakfast is more than OK considering the price, since most hostels I know won't include breakfast while charging such a low price/night. Free WiFi works fine in the rooms as well. I will come back when I return to Porto.
