  Location - amazing. Dinners were excellent despite being a set menu. Reception and waiting staff very friendly and helpful. The free bike and rowing boat hire were a real bonus.

The best feature of the hotel is of course the lake, which begins at the footsteps of the patio... You must experience the view to really feel the beauty! - Aw... what people say » esome location - close to the maid road, some shops, fuel stations and THE LAKE!   First off, Flåm cannot be missed if you're in Norway or Scandinavia. Must check it out. The staff at Fretheim were very helpful and friendly. I was running to catch my train so I didn't have time to thank the server at breakfast but if he sees this thank you very much! He was so sweet, he explained where everything was to me the moment I walked i... what people say » n, he told me what the dishes consisted of and he was just super nice all-in-all. The receptionist was even more helpful, told me where to go, what to - The town of Flam is in a beautiful setting at the end of the Fjord- we went hiking and it was breathtaking- so beautiful- I would recommend renting bikes and riding back to Aurland- along the Fjord, a beautiful setting- the bkie ride from Flam to Mrydal is only for people who have experience- it is a winding path, steep mountians and lots of uphill- only do this if you are in shape and know how to ride a mountain bike- you could also walk this trail or part of it
