The serviced apartment hotel Villa Park was built in the 19th century. It has been totally renovated retaining its historic characteristics. The renovations were conducted with the cooperation of the Inspectorate of Ancient Monuments and Historic Buildings.

Formerly called the Palace behind the Palace, Villa Park provides fully furnished apartments with the highest standards in quality and design. Towels and bed linen are changed and the rooms are cleaned weekly for guests staying more than one week.

The Villa Park offers late check out until 16.00 at no extra charge on Sundays.

Reviews - Villa Park

We wanna recommend this excellent apartment hotel to the fullest. We had first a standard double, and then we extended our stay with 3 more nights in a doubleroom with separate bedroom for just 200 NOK more =) We checked in late at night via their keysafe system, and found the apartment warm (heated stonefloors) clean and comfy, and we could cook our own food and also wash and dry our clothes in this well equipped apartment. It is located just behind the Royal castle in central Oslo, and 5 - Frances


Refreshingly Different. More of an apartment than a hotel room - Kitchen facilities - which saves you a lot of money in a City that is so expensive to eat out in. (supermarket nearby) Bed on a mezzanine platform accessed by steep stairs so you need to be a bit athletic to get to bed - not for the elderly. We had room 208 (I think), we were lucky and had access to the balcony which we shared with the room next door - we ate every meal out here. Really nice. Very Convenient easy to - Andrea

In order to preserve the historic qualities of Villa Park, hotel has limited catering facilities. Therefore breakfast can not be included to the service. Bakery however can be found across the road.

Fully equipped kitchens are provided and are more than sufficient for preparing daily meals at home.

Hotel information details

Villa Park is part of the area of townhouses which was built around the Norwegian Palace in the last part of the 19th Century.

The residence was first owned by Valentin Fürst, a well reputed doctor and friend of Henrik Sørensen, the painter, and Gustav Vigeland, the sculptor (the Vigeland Park). They both have visited Villa Park many times.

Hvidsten Eiendom renovated the building in 1999 in cooperation with the Inspectorate of Ancient Monuments and Historic Buildings (Byantikvaren).

Important information to guests

From Monday to Friday, the hotel reception is open from 09:00 until 16:00. On weekends, the reception is closed. Guests arriving later than 16:00 on weekdays can collect their keys in a key box at the hotel. Please contact the reception in advance to receive information about this. Contact details can be found in the booking confirmation email.
