If you are used to the countryside and ski-mountain atmosphere, this is for you. We are explorers and as such this place fits the bill in one of Norway´s top winter destinations. The Olympics museum is very close by, although a car or bike is recommended for moving up and down the hills. Beautiful location, if you can handle self catering this is a perfect gem for you. Staff super friendly! Good vibe and atmosphere.
all reviews » As we were there in the off season (the end of April) we received a free room upgrade. The rooms had an excellent view of the snow covered mountains and were very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped, if small, and the tv received a wide variety of channels. Fantastic location. Top class crosscountry skiing. Preparation of tracks - world class! Nice apartment with sauna and fireplace and well equipped down to the smallest detail, eg firewood, toilet paper, kitchen utensils. Friendly atmosphere. Off the beaten track (which I wanted) so you will need your own transport. The key was left on noticeboard so no one there when we arrived which was fine. Nice apartment with great views. The spacious apartment is located in the mountain, 15 mins' drive from Lillehammer. The kitchen is very well equipped. The view from the living room and the terrace is very beautiful. Comfortable and Self-Sufficient. Nice surroundings full of nature. Bread in morning can be ordered and was hot, but one needs to carry butter/cheese/jam to have breakfast out of it. This was the best place we stayed throughout our 8500km trip thru 11 countries in Europe. Location was great, staff was great, the place was awesome. Very accommodating place. Spectacular views. The dishwasher was broken and the laundry facilities could only be used during the reception hours of 9am to 3pm, right when we wanted to be out enjoying the countryside. All good. Take your own food though because nowhere nearby to eat being there off season. Steep and long drive to reach. No breakfast and no shops nearby, so plan. Bring bed linens or it can be expensive to rent. Make sure everything is cleaned before you leave. Everything was great at out stay. If you plan to visit Lillehammer, make sure it is during season, otherwise everything is pretty dead around there. Do not accept a ground-floor room, the wood floor from the upper level is squeakying quite annoying...and, also, this stuff with bring your own sheets or rent it from us - maybe the sheets should be included in the price of the room and, as an option, if you want to bring yours, you can get a discount/deduction...looks more business-like, but it's just an opinion, not a complain!. Only one toilet cum bath even in a cottage with 6 beds!. The only thing i can think of is, the pathways to the chalets etc could be kept a bit more free off ice. A bit isolated, but not a problem if you are prepared with food etc. Everything was OK. Linen and towels were not included in the price of the stay; cleaning fee was too high. Super market is a bit distance away, but not big deal. one must bear in mind (doesn't appear on the site) - price doesn't include bed linen and final cleaning. It is fairly difficult to buy something to eat, except pizza at reception. Our time was to short. Tourist Information in Lillehammer unaware it is a long drive out of tow. Best take provisions before you go as limited store nearby. Confusing route.. Address could be more clear. Not in Lillehammer. Not super market near and expensive bedlinen and towels. there was not beed sheets and no info that I shall my own with me. The place is too far from the town and difficult to reach it even with gps.
