We had an apartment on the second floor of a four unit building. The small outside deck faced the fjord, which was nice. Free parking. The facility has a restaurant, with very average food and high prices (high prices are typical in Norway). There are two very good grocery stores in the town and we cooked two dinners in our apartment. This is a good place to stay without having to spend a lot of money.
all reviews » very friendly and thoughtful owner. we were nicely surprised when he upgrated us (without being asked) to a private apt from a motel room due to the fact the motel where we booked a room was crowdy and full of quite loud large group teenagers. He also exchanged our currency, gave us grat info/suggestions. The place is very clean and neat, with amazing location. Thank you. Very helpful staff. I was vary late for the check-in (around 2 AM, because of the closed Gudvanga Tunnel on E16), but the staff have arranged the key pickup for me anyway. I have stayed in the motel room. The room was clean and with a bathroom. There is a shared kitchen and dining room available in the motel too. The motel itself is beautifully located. Everything about our stay was fantastic and the staff were very helpful, nothing was to much trouble. It was an ideal location to stay as we were in the car and everything we wanted to do,although a car ride away,was easy to get to. The cottage we stayed in was perfect. The park area where the apartments are set is lovely, its on a beach in a fjord, beautiful. The apartment has everything you need to be comfortable and there are doors which open out to give a light airy feel through out. the heating works well too. Excellent location (very calm), helpful staff, very nice food at their green restaurant. Beautiful view. Overall quite modest, but that was expected. The gentleman in reception was ultra-grumpy; the woman very kind and helpful. The Internet here didn't work at all ... and it seemed like no one wants to admit that fact to guests. We didn't liks that they passed out WiFi codes left and right while knowing that the system was unlikely to connect. Others had the same complaint. They need a reputable provider of they should not advertise that they have Internet!. The cottage led to a nice patio by the fjord. We had a very nice meal at the hotel's restaurant. good location, near the fjords and great staff, really helpful. convenient. The people at the check in desk were not very forthcoming with information, possibly because of having limited English. There is nothing in the way of bars or restaurants in the town. The lounge area is basic but still comfortable enough for a night or two. The room in the motel section could be cleaner: the couch looked quite dirty, overall the room smelled badly (especially at the entrance). tunnel was closed for repairs so couldn't get out early when we wanted to. Wish we realized it earlier. Our chalet was too far away from the office to receive wifi. The extra bed added for our fifth person was unusable, so we put the mattresses on the floor and that worked. The other beds were just fine. TV selection,. No carpet. It was a bit cold floor. Motel room was small and not so confortable. Problems with WiFi !. WiFi didn't work at all for three days. Lack of comfort - place very small. Also, the location is quite remote with nothing to do. Could be because we went in Easter. need to clean ourselves or need to pay the cleaning fee. - dirty room and bathroom - dirty furnitures - broken tools in the room - no internet connection (in the motel) - somethimes there wasn't hot water - unhelpful staff - unstable (maybe broken) bed - seperated bed instead of double bed - this isn't a fjord view what is in the room... Uncomportable room.
