We were very happy with the accommodation. We stayed in a 1 bedroom Rorbu, it was just right for the two of us having a good, well equipped kitchen area; a seating area with television, comfortable chairs and coffee table; and a spacious shower room with plenty of hot water and under floor heating. The bedroom had 2 single beds and a wardrobe. We stayed in the summer and appreciated the window blinds allowing us to sleep during the long hours of light. all reviews » Cosy 2 bedroom selfcontained apartment which was clean and comfortable. Extremely quiet and the beds were very comfortable. It was really close to the water and the view was fantastic. Possibilty to hire a boat. Very close to Leknes though you need a car to get there. There was free internet access. Very friendly receptionist Harald who was amazing. I had dropped the car hire key off in the box at the airport and realized with a panic that I had forgot my Laptop bag at the reception with valuab. Location is perfect(nearby seashore, mountain, and light house) View was great (better than kabelvag or svolvaer). Room is very convenient(good kitchen facilities, bathroom was clean, bedroom was comfortable, TV and living room was great). The staff is friendly and helpful. Ballstad is an "untouched" beautiful village, very near Stamsund and Leknes, and a perfect base for Lofoten touring (we rented a car). The rooms are well-equiped and comfortable. Personal involvment and attention by the owner - great - here is a person who knows how to run this type of hotel. Environment and nature. Very clean and comfortable. Pracitcal (kitchenette). It's nice and clean and calm. Very cozy. Nice view. Excellent facilities and location. Good fishing, boats for rent. We would have appreciated a kettle in the kitchen. The bedside lights didn't work (one was missing a light bulb and in the other the light bulb didn't work). These obviously hadn't been checked at changeover. The beds were comfortable but the mattress pads (over the sprung part of the bed) were so thin that the sheet wouldn't stay tucked in. An information pack in each room would be useful - explaining the opening times of the cafe, location of the shop etc. check out is available at 10 am. Nothing to dislike. 10 minutes walk from the nearest bus stop - no problem, got a lift from the owner. Please put in description that guests need to bring their own food along, eg. For bkfst, no shopping nearby, especially on Sundays. But owner helped to get organized for bkfst. No staff. Impossible to find - even local people thought so. Reception is always closed. It is required to call to the manager and wait him for an hour till he come. Hotel is located not on the Norvegiant see shore, but in the fishing seeport acvatoria. So information, that guests will have suites or rooms with Norvegian see views misleads.
