Great staff. At check-in, Jasmine was awesome: friendly and knowledgeable. Moderately priced hotel. 5 minute walk from the bus stop and 10 minute walk to the hurtigruten terminal. Rooms are clean and the shower a good size by European standard. Breakfast buffet was a feast. Wifi was strong throughout the hotel. You can leave your luggage in a secured room if you have to go on a day trip but need to go back to Alesund for the next leg of tour (Geiranger and Norway in a Nutshell, etc.). You can a.
all reviews » Very nice location by the sea, few minutes from the absolute city center. Clean hotel with an appealing architecture, both externally and internally. Very nice staff. The restaurant staff helped with a special dish for the children and toys to play with. Abundant quality breakfast. Excellent reception staff specially support from Yasmeen and also from the supervisor of the Dining area. We had a midnight cruise and the hotel organised taxi and guided us on how to reach the cruise docking station. Staff were excellent - Ingrid especially stands out, as she looked up travel information for us and did her best to find answers to all our questions. Nice breakfast buffet. The restaurant didn't have a children's menu (but with late opening hours one should probably not expect this). It was understood that the Pier for the cruise is walking distance from the hotel. However the cruise docked was very far off . However that was not the problem of the hotel. Corporate style hotel, just not my favorite kind. Also quite expensive for what it is - price seemed high, even for Norway. It was very expensive. That's a function of Alesund, I'm afraid. It was a bit confusion in the reception if the family room was a family room... Badly placed bedside lamps in the centre of bed head. Furniture too big for room, not enough space to move around. Breakfast could have been better, fresher and more varied. Brekfast is very poor. Rooms are not clean. Housekeeping works very bad.
