The room was very clean and comfortable. We found out we had been upgraded to a nicer room when we checked in, which was a nice surprise. The location was perfect, just a block away from all the shops and restaurants, but slightly removed enough to be away from the noise. The concierge went above and beyond. all reviews » This hotel is outstanding; from the lovely genuine welcome at reception to the standard of housekeeping. The location is unbeatable-across from the wharf and a couple of minutes walk to everything. We'll definitely be returning. We booked an evening cruise on the steamship Earnslaw with dinner at Walter Peak Station homestead. It was a truly memorable night and once docked back at Queenstown it was virtually a matter of crossing the road to our hotel. The staff were amazing. The rooms were cleaned so well u could eat off the floor. We always stay at this hotel because location is great the staff and rooms are great as well. They were very accommodating and I have them a hard time in the beginning sorry Nadia. But I were very professional. Beautiful big rooms, plenty of room to unpack suitcases etc. the lake view from our balcony was to die for.Good water pressure in the shower and the best big soft towels! the location for easy acess to town was unsurpassed also a handy convenience store right next door. we stayed at the hotel for one night. so only got a day to see queenstown... to have the hotel close to everything... we did well with what sites to see. staff was friendly and waived our parking even though later we bought a package of wifi-breakfast and valet. beautiful facility along the lake. Town stores and restaurants begin right outside the front doors. There is plenty of easy access to the outdoor activities as well. Hotel location was extremely convenient. The service in the restaurant would have been improved with more staff on hand to accommodate number of diners. Can't think of ONE thing. Nothing. McDonalds could have done better Sink in bathroom was cracked and extractor fan was not working. lack of business friendly affordable room service breakfast options - some a-la-carte options rather than full or continental would be good - along with gluten free and barista options. Bar closes early. For the price we paid I would think that internet could have been included in the price. we enjoy every moment of our stay so theres nothing we didnt like. That you bar had run out of campari. almost none. For the price the room was dated and average. There was nothing negative about our stay. Always enjoy it. Dated decor-noise from other bathrooms-. Corridors to rooms need vacuum cleaned more often. Housekeeping was below par. It does not have swimming pool. Internet access a real problem. You have to pay $15.00 per day to park your car at the hotel, and there is no other parking. 24 hour free wifi would have been ideal. Food, was very poor. A bit expensive to those who travel on budget. Deceiving room descriptions: "Features a private balcony with views of the stunning scenery." means a room on the right hand side of the hotel with some lake view. Rude manager. Poor internet access for guests compared to many less expensive motels we have stayed in. Very disappointing!. bathroom was tired - shower over bath, cheap shower curtain lobby lounge functional but not particularly comfortable or relaxing. Room was small untidy, balcony was very dirty. Complained and excuses were made. I expected more from the crown plaza.
