The staff were absolutely awesome and could not do enough to ensure our stay was trouble free, transfer to the airport at the early hours of the morning was promp and efficient, the restaurant staff were always there to ensure our drinks were topped up and ensure we were happy with the quality of the food and service. The trainee waitress was great even though she was nervous, but we enjoyed her openness and ease of conversation.

Hotel is undergoing some renovations and we had a nicely re-done bathroom. Great convenience if you need something right at the airport, with some attractions within walking distance (Antartica exploration exhibits). The friendly staff 24 hour service courtesy bus was excellent to get to the airport before 4.00 am. I would have liked to buy one of the photography books in draw of the two peninsulas but I forgot to ask Could you please advise me if I can have one as left the one in draw for the next guest as requested. Although the facilities could be considered a little dated, they are kept fresh and clean, with the service, food, and attention to ensuring a memorable experience of the very highest standard. We chose this hotel as it is very close to Christchurch airport and we had an early flight the next day. The room was very clean and comfortable with all facilities. The staff are very helpful even when I left my key in my room. The bar and lounge areas are pleasant and the transfer to the airport very easy. Very near to the airport, free shuttle. If you rent a camper it is the best place to stay prior to pickup of the camper since they are just next door. The room we had was spacious with view on the garden. Extremely quiet both daytime and nighttime. Staff was very helpful during our two stays at the hotel. House wine (merlot) worst I've had in three years; sent it back; replacement glass much better. 1970s style furniture Din lighting in bathroom. Double bed was uncomfortable due to being too narrow with very soft mattress. Older rooms were a bit tired and quite a long walk to get to wing. letsbookhotel.com flagged us as requiring a twin room when we wanted a double -- but I don't think I was ever asked when I booked online. Luckily one was available when we arrived for check-in. Price probably a bit high. For those trying to sleep, it can be very noisy, caused by the early morning travellers who are checking out at 3 - 4am. Nothing. Buffet breakfast wasn't up to its usual standard. Food had been sitting too long & was rubbery, unlike the great quality we've had on previous stays. nothing. the age of the decor.
