Upon arrival the reception staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was exactly what I had booked the bonus being a view out over the city and harbour. Amazing! Later in the afternoon, from our room, we saw the "Sea Princess" cruise ship cruising out of the harbour. What an awesome sight. The room was well appointed suiting our requirements and very comfortable. We utilized the restaurant on site for our evening meal and was not disappointment. Beautiful food and nicely presented .
all reviews » Spacious well appointed family apartment with lovely views over the harbour and city but only minutes into the city. We stayed in an inner city apartment for the first part of our stay and the minute I walked into the apartment at Quality Hotel Parnell I felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders and that I was really on holiday. Was great to have an outdoor play area that the apartment overlooked, it gave the children a little freedom and allowed us to relax. Loved it and would definately g. What an awasome place to stay.... we needed to be at the vector arena for a event. it was easy walking distance. We loved the shower, it had the most pressure we have ever come accross in a hotel/motel or camping ground in NZ. From the outside it looks old but you get inside and the rooms are done up tastefully adn the bed was comfortable. We ordered room service this was a fair price and decent enough food. When they did not have one part of our order in stock they gave us a little something e. Stayed at this hotel on two consecutive weekends in October 13. The staff were very helpful and forthcoming responding to all my requests for directions, booking me activities, and special requests that came up during my two stays. I really enjoyed the kitchenette in the room (sink, basic dishes and cutlery, fridge and microwave, plus small table and chair): very handy if one prefers to have some meals in the room. I stayed at Quality Hotel Parnell on three occasions in a two week period. The staff are friendly and obliging and do whatever they can to make your stay relaxing. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean, some having great views of the city and others without the views have a small kitchen where meals can be prepared. Shopping and restaurants are close by and it is quiet and conveniently located. I liked everything about the hotel. The room was fantastic with great views of Auckland Harbour. The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was excellent, both for dinner and breakfast. Very high quality food. It was a shame we only spent two nights there. I would definitely like to stay longer there and would recommend it to other people. It is convenient to Newmarket, Parnell and City. If you venture out walking go either to Rose Gardens, then Judges Bay direction. This time I went down St Stephens Avenue, took a street towards Hobson Bay and found Hobson Bay walkway. It was low tide and I walked quite a way around until another acess way led me back into St Stephens Avenue. The city seems to not exist. Hotel is quiet, in a good area; only 5 or 6 minutes walk to shop and bus. Quality restaurants a little further. Parking access very good, but don't park under the trees unless you want a sticky car. Service of lifts is excellent. Hotel restaurant and food is very good. Room with balcony is very good, with harbour views that must be better in higher floors. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Location wise, it depends on what you want. Very good for Parnell and that end of the city. Would be a short cab ride to centre and viaduct. Staff friendly and helpful. Parking is free, it does get busy, but you still get parked somewhere on site, so that is good. Very good for the price, woudl definitely recommend. As a musician, any hotel that has a medium-size grand piano in the bar, tuned and in perfect condition, gets full marks from me! And the bar stayed open, as promised, till 11pm, even though when I went in at 10.30, there was no-one else there. But I had a couple of drinks and enjoyed having a little play on the beautiful piano!. From the moment we arrived the staff were cheerful and efficient, and had our booking details at their fingertips. Our top floor room faced the harbour and was immaculate and well equipped. The restaurant staff were equally charming and efficient. Great to be in Parnell with access to Link Buses and the village coffee shops. Great friendly staff with a genuinely warm welcome and farewell. Comfortable beds with perfectly adequete facilities considering the price. Perfectly cooked eggs Benedict at breakfast time; loads of free parking and a short pleasant walk to Parnell and the seemingly hundreds of restaurants. The hotel is a short walk from a bus stop making it quick and easy to get into the city or to Newmarket. Newmarket is also a short walk away. The view from my room was stunning. I could have watched the harbour all day. The electric blanket was a fantastic as I acclimatised to winter. It was quiet, close to the city, near a bus and the staff overall were very helpful. It was also reasonably priced.The breakfast situation was a little tricky to understand. They might consider including fruit in the express breakfast too. Express breakfast was $6 NZ which was good. Great place to stay. Location excellent. Parnell shops just a short walk away and Auckland City within close walking distance or you could catch the bus which ran pretty regularly. Lovely comfortable two bedroom apartment. Will always stay here from now on when visiting Auckland. Great location that is easy to find from the airport. While it feels like you're in the suburbs you are only 5 mins drive from the busy Newmarket shops. I was really impressed with how well the apartment kitchenette was stocked up, wish I could have used it more. This is an old motel that has been refurbished. The location is nice and quiet and yet handy to Parnell and and the city. Free onsite parking is a bonus for this area and wifi was reasonable. Staff were pleasant and very helpful. Good value for money. The room was excellent value for money with an amazing view over the harbour. We had stayed there before and they had on record that my husband likes to get a morning paper - we didn't even have to ask. Nothing bad to say, other than they didn't advertise that the apartment had a washing machine and drier - this was a major deciding factor in picking an apartment for our 9 night stay in Auckland and if this had been stated, we would have booked the whole 9 nights there as I didn't want to spend my holiday time stuck in a laundry or laundrette :-). Nothing!. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing really - well the shower head was a bit too low for me. Nothing. Would have liked to have had another mirror in the bedroom...a little tricky when the only mirror is in the bathroom and someone else decides to stay in there for an extended time. The beds were a little bouncy. Otherwise, very nice. The kitchen staff had to be called 3 times to deliver a single kitchen knife to our room. Communication not the best. Also, the TV technician was not able to retune our TV so we were limited with television stations. I was travelling solo with a young baby so was confined to the room for the first few meals so tried room service. While delivered quickly, the food was average. You'd be better off walking 5 mins down Gladstone Road to the small cluster of shops or ordering in from a local takeaway shop. It was great for the price. We would definitely stay again. There is no elevator which might be an issue for some guests. Nothing. If there was any negative it was only minor that being of traffic noise which if building was double glazed this would not be an issue. Bed a bit hard. The noise is bad at this hotel. We stayed 2 nights. First night wasn't too bad, although you can hear every slamming door. The 2nd night they had a party on sight and at 3:30 am after trying various things, I finally called the front desk about the continued noise. They did try to address it, but the night was lost. Don't stay here on the weekend unless you like to party too. Nothing. Access to the 3rd floor is not ideal having to get luggage up external stairs. However having stayed previously we knew what to expect and we are fit and able to manage the climb. The fact that there were a million heaters in the unit but no fans, so windows & doors were left open to deal with the heatwave & my family & I got invaded by mosquitos & bitten to bits. We had read about parking problems and screaming kids at night and early morning. We did have to go around the back for parking which was fine. I'm glad to say there were no screaming kids. Cheers. Housekeeping start earlier than strictly necessary and seem oblivious to sleeping guests. Looks a bit dated and you can hear your neighbours talking due to poor sound insulation, expensive breakfast. I enjoyed the meals, but service was a bit slow. The staff were always very pleasant. Having to pay for annoying, passworded wireless internet access. I wouldn't book this hotel again, solely on this basis. Having to walk up and down an outside staircase to my room on the second level, with two heavy suitcases. Kitchen facilities were dated and lounge furniture a bit uncomfortable, but still great value for money. toilet - it took up to four flushes to flush toilet paper - suggest possibly review toilet paper - embarrasing when guests visit also stepping out of bath/shower awkward as quite high. mattress was quite hard.. Shower water temperature varied, was hard to keep it hot. Nothing to dislike!. Parking is a bit of an issue. It is so busy if you do manage to get a close park, you won't get it a second time if you leave it. Parked on road. minor point, but hand was basin small and kettle would not fill direct from tap. Noisy water pipes interrupting sleep. Rooms not very soundproof. No water drinking glasses supplied, wine glasses and cups. The attached restaurant would be improved with better service.
