I liked the fact that our hotel room overlooked the harbour & we were able to watch our cruise ship come in to dock. never being on a cruise before I found this quite exiting. Your hotel staff are very friendly & the room was lovely & clean. We found being able to have free wifi in the lobby for 20 minutes very valuable as we were able to let our kids know we were ok. the buffet breakfast was lovely in the morning.
all reviews » The biggest and most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in! Bedding extremely clean and high quality. Room was really good, big TV, comfortable chair and footstool for reading and relaxation, air conditioning/heating responsive. Everyone was helpful and courteous, restaurant and bar more than adequate. Beautiful view. Brilliant location, couldn't have been better. I liked the location. It was great to be able to walk to a variety of bars, restaurants, and the ferries. We liked happy hour and made use of this each night. It was good to have a restaurant as an option. The view was great. Parking was easy. Front desk staff were very helpful. Likewise the porters who helped us with luggage. Location, location, location. A very clean hotel with a great view of the harbour was just what we needed after 24 hours from Toronto. They also let us check in at 9:45 am. Two nights here we enhanced by a wonderful staff who's advice on the city was really good. The price was less than $100nz a night!. A very pleasant stay, wonderful view the Harbour from the bedroom, Staff courteous and extremely helpful. Special offer buffet breakfast promising but quality of food somewhat disappointing and food barely lukewarm in spite of the steam tables.However would certainly recommend the hotel,. The location is excellent and the views superb. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of towels and toileteries and a choice of teas and coffee. The breakfast at a special rate of $16 was good. I paid $110 for my room which I considered fair. I would not like to have paid more. Your hotel was recommended to us by Naki Bus for the convenience of catching an early morning bus to New Plymouth. We had arrived after a long journey from Ireland and your hotel provided a perfect stopover and only minutes away from the bus stop the next morning. Thank you. Proximity to Viaduct, for ease of client entertainment. Close to Britomart to enable a speedy morning trip to Mt Wellington without expensive taxi fare or having to inconvenience local work colleagues to come and do a morning pick up through peak hour traffic. We liked the online booking was easy - we got a great package which included breakfast, a great view from the 11th floor. The only extra we paid for was the carpark, which was reasonably priced, and the staff were very pleasant. Value for money. location is terrific- right next to the cruise ship terminal for those joining/leaving a cruise, and excellent harbour views from the upper floors. city shops are a short walk. Rooms are very quiet, and very clean, with good, thick towels. Having previously staying in a standard room, we were upgraded this visit due to a lack of standard rooms for 2 nights. We really appreciated the gesture this lovely room. It is handy for the harbor and the city. Staff were very helpful. Just about everything!! The location was AWESOME - really really good value for money, stayed at the econolodge 2days earlier for the same price and the size/comfort compared to there was great. fantastic staff, comfy bed/pillows - really pleased with stay. We loved the hotel and found the facilities were of a high standard. The breakfast included was great. It was close to shopping and the viaduct - just wished we could've stayed longer to enjoy it more. Will definitely come again. The view over the Auckland waterfront from our room was absolutely amazing. So much to see and so close to downtown restaurants and shops. Was close to the viaduct and city centre. It had everything we needed, room was decent size and comfortable big bed. It was very clean. The facilities. They had me sorted with a car park immediately after arrival and had good suggestions for surrounding locations to visit. My room was satisfactory but my travelling companions had problems with their room. Had to change rooms twice before the room was okay. the automosphere was warm and nice and staff were friendly. Also found it very difficult to have a shower as the shower is in the bath. I needed my husband Victor to help me get in and out. Having cronic arthritis I also found it very difficult to flush the toilet. I needed both hands to do this. Never had that problem before. your disabled rooms were fully booked. If you had a seperate shower from the bath I would have been fine. Some maintenance required to update bathrooms and stairways, but obviously a work in progress as can be seen from the new carpet and quality furnishings. The street noise from the bars on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights means we will never stay at this location on these nights again. Even though we were up on the 9th floor, sleeping on these nights was a challenge. It would have been more inviting if the bar manager was a bit more convivial. Breakfast is too expensive so there are places within walking distance. see left. I was going to make myself a coffee until I found one of the cups in the room still had lipstick on it! There was a charge of $4 for payment by credit card so I paid in cash. The only complaint was that the carpark had an impractical layout and was somewhat inconvenient but that was very minor. Didn't enjoy the late night revellers on the weekend, even from the 9th floor. The fact that it might be 'gay friendly' or 'gourmet'. The latter implies expense which warns pensioners like ourselves of potential problems ahead of rich food and excessive prices!! The former that we might feel possibly 'uncomfortable ' should the 'gay' bit be too blatant. Price for overnight car parking. Front desk staff should advise guests from overseas to refrain from using their cashcard /debitcard as a guarantee.Funds became frozen and caused many headaches & curses during our friends stay in nz. The basic rooms are too basic - light on soap towells etc ?? We are used to the rooms above level 6 -much better. I know that the Hotel is getting old,But, the bathroom needed a good scrub up. There is no need for unclenlyness, Also the sheet had dirty marks on it, felt like they hadn't been changed. The bathroom is a bit dated. I'd requested disabled access, especially in the bathroom, as this was a priority. Unfortunately this request was ignored. Handrail from the reception area to the next level, was not fitted securely, needs repairing. I would refer others there, unless they, like me, required easy access to facilities. I did find the cooked breakfast unappealing,the continental was ok.The bathroom desperately needs an upgrade but was clean. There was nothing wrong with the facilities. Te room fit out was very old. The thermostat was in F not C. Bar staff were not the best. The bar has a massive potential to be brilliant but the range of drinks and the skills of the bar staff were a bit disappointing. They advertised free wifi in communal areas - what this actually meant was under 20 minutes every 24 hours!. The bed we were in had one good side and the other side was saggy, we were offered to move to another room however we choose to stay even though the bed wasn't so good. Ensuite is in need of re-vamping but I understand this is in the pipeline. No pool. Very clean but furnishings look tired. There were four of us staying with only 3 cups. The lock at the Gym.....did not show the numbers properly. There is no washing line in my room 808. Cost of parking seems excessive but probably in line with other city hotels. Also the parking spaces were very tight. Air conditioning didn't seem to work, but we only there one night, had to sleep with window open, bit noisy. Bathroom dated. At 4pm, at our arrival, the room was NOT ready for check in. The staff made me wait without any estimate or further communication for over 15 mins. What a shocker... In addition, the quality of the room was poor. Maintenance required in several places of the room. I think it is an old hotel, some facilities are too old. Like my bathroon, the tap water runing was quite noisy. I stayed at room 414. The decor is quite dated and the carpets could have done with a clean. I found the dinning area is a tad on the small side and breakfast in the morning can be a little tricky as it seems to be crammed into quite a small area for the size of the hotel. we stayed here 15 mnths ago, hence why we stayed here again. However the price for this weekend was $70 extra and last year we had breakfast, this extra price did not include any breakfast. Street noise on Friday night. lift was a bit erratic. sometimes it didn,t stop at the right place. Hotel could do with an interrior facelift. But we really eppreciated the price we got. Bed too soft and past its use by date. WiFi too expensive. it would be nice to have what is available in the way of food in your rooms as we saw a menue in the lift but was a different menue as the restaurant.otherwise have booked to stay in sept and possibley another date that's if the prices stay as they are. Price of food. For what we paid there was nothing I would change. Car Parking was a constant frustration. Cost $24 per day. Yet we had to park the car ourselves. More often than not there were no parks and we had to walk back to reception to get direction. Could take up to 30 mins just to park the car, Complained to reception. No suggestion on how to fix it. Bathroom needs an uplift but for location and price can't complain really.
