The location and the comfortable room. Lots to do within walking distance from the hotel. The atmosphere in the hotel and surrounding area was wonderful. Can't wait to go back. location. The heat was not on in mid-October -- we had to request that it be turned on. Breakfast was adequate but not very interesting: the bread was mediocre and no toaster was available. The staff was not especially friendly. I had a single room which was too small to be called a "room". Not worth the price at all. This demonstrates poor hospitality. The room was so small that the bathroom door could't be opened all the way. Also the bed was very uncomfortable.The hotel side was not as good as the restaurant. Room was ok,clean, bed comfortable, but with only basic facilities not worth therate charged.

On the A-10 you follow the exit S-116 to Volendam. When you enter the town Volendam you go on the roundabout left. When you drive in Volendam you go straight ahead. After 3 kilometers you go right {after kras recycling} if you follow the road you enter the centre of Volendam. And there on the dike there is Hotel Old Dutch.
