No bar facilities.No breakfast before 0800 on Saturday. Room service was poor, 1 day my room was never cleaned at all. Additional space for clothing, such as drawers would be good. Complimentary internet service in hotel rooms would be an added plus. Overpriced – the cost of the good location. The general level is lower than claimed 4 stars.very ugly interior, hanging exposed cables, conduits and pipes in corridors, extremely poor lighting in bathroom, ridiculously creaky bed. The price for breakfast (17,- Euro) is really much too high in comparison to other hotels, and considering the food selection. My room was awful - really noisy water pipes and only half a curtain and the state of repair was dreadful. I ended up moving room at 2 am. Never request a single room. The decor on our floor was shabby and the carpet in our room was very dirty.There were used condoms in the bin when we arrived!!! The shower draindidn't work properly and this caused the whole floor to get soaked. Thecleaning lady came into the room without knocking when we were still inbed and did not clean the room later. I was booked in to the hotel for 4 Nights but only stayed for 1 night as I spent the night being disturbed by a mouse attempting to eat the contents of the hot chocolate sachet in with the drinks making facilities.cleanliness and facilities in the room. Value for money is very low.There was a lot of construction going on, due to intensive refurbishmentof the hotel, which affected the quality of the room, and the quality ofthe stay. Suggest that perhaps the hotel closes while refurbishmentfinishes, or does a reduced rate, while informing the guests thatconstruction works are being undertaken before the booking is made. I did not like the dirty room, the filthy windows, the stained carpet, the insect ridden bed. I also objected to the very loud construction going on outside my room at before 6am in the morning.The hotel is old and in need of upgrading. The rooms are small and dark. It was cold and the heating did not help and was very noisy. No minibar, no room service. Will not stay there again.

How to get to the Best Western Hotel Utrecht City Centre

By car:

From all directions, you follow the high way signs to Utrecht/Amsterdam. You follow exit 'Jaarbeurs' and keep following these signs until you see signs for 'centrum'. In the centre you follow the signs for 'P-route', these will lead you to the parking garage 'Vredenburg'.
All the streets in the centre are closed for traffic, so you will not be able to reach the hotel by car. We advise you to park your car directly in the parking.

By train:

When you get off the train at Utrecht Central Station, you will find yourself immediately in the shoppingcentre called 'Hoog Catharijne'. Start following the signs 'Vredenburg' (you find the signs attached to the ceiling). After a 5-minute walk through the shoppingcentre you have to go outside and there is the Vredenburg square. The hotel is on the left corner of this square.
