Schiphol Hotels

Got the opportunity to go to Schiphol's citizenM for test-sleeping before the 'grand opening' in June. We've been to many hotels with practically any numbers of stars, but the heart almost never pumped any faster. Now it did, five minutes after arriving by train at Schiphol when receiving our first Mobile Martini cocktail. Then, an unwanted gap between the first and second was necessary, because we had to be able to criticise our stay. Ok, self-check-in; smooth and fast, dinner; (only) prepackag - Richard

I visit Schiphol almost every month and since this year I've decided to stay with Hilton from now on for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the Hilton always offers me better rates than the Sheraton and it takes me only 5 minutes to get from the gate to the hotel. Next to this I like the atmosphere and staff at the Hilton. They simply are a bit warmer and friendlier than the staff you find at other hotels and always go one step further to make sure I have a good stay. Sure, the Sheraton is more moder - Pamela

Great hotel. We were nervous to stay at the airport but the downtown hotels were outrageously expensive due to an electronics convention in Amsterdam. So we stayed here and loved the hotel. There are shuttles provided by the hotel 2 times per hour to and from the airport. The train to the Central Station from the airport is easy and relatively fast. We didn't mind it even though we would have liked to be downtown. And the train was pretty cheap. The staff at the hotel were great. The ro - Carol

I have visited Amsterdam on my last trip to Europe, i have never been to The netherlands b4r. this hotel has made my this frist trip to AMS very memorable and esteem. i liked the hotel from all point of veiw. i have visited The Neatherland as a guest of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and they have arrainged my accomodation for 10 nights in the this hotel. the check in staff was very cooperative and very obliging. they have allowded me to early chack in as there reguler check in time is at 1400hrs. but - Encarnacion

Instead of leaving home in the middle of the night from the Uk we decided to break our journey to Peru with a stop over at Schipol airport and were so pleased we had. Instead of a 6am flight from Manchester to connect with the 10am from Amsterdam to Lima we took an early afternoon flight the day before. (Luggage was booked right through to Peru )On arrival we were upgraded to a superior room. As previous guests have said the rooms are well appointed, really enjoyed the very large bath. A very clean and welcoming hotel - rooms on the road side of the hotel are bigger but noisier - those at the back are more 'cosy' but very quiet. Large bathroom with shower. Large TV, plenty of wardrobe space for a weekend break and a really, really large and comfortable bed. Also the bedside tables were large. Made it a bit difficult to get up in the morning. Unfortunately the local public transport is poor so getting into Amsterdam was quite slow and costly. However breakfast was very good wit - David
