The room was ready when I arrived. Staff were very helpful in providing a map of surrounding features. Breakfast was excellent value and wait staff were polite and friendly. Great hotel well located - we had a triple room with plenty of room - everything was clean very dutch and will stay there aagain. It was central so easy to get to the main tourist sights. We used 2 of the recommended restaurants and found them very good. all reviews »
Great location, quiet, peaceful, and a great value for a clean room. The staff was helpful and the breakfast decent.It was easy to move around the center and it was nosmoking like no many that i found. Very good value. The first room was small and with no charm. the hotel have offered us (with no additionnal charge) a beautifiull room under the roof with 3 windows directly on one of the nicest channel.visited attractions including; canal city tour, the red light district, the sex museum, and eat and drink - a lot. Vey clean beds,good servise,in the center,in a beautiful plase.It was clean, warm, comfortable and very central. location, cleanliness and comfortability. big rooms, very clean, friendly staff. (but everything else was great!). That i booked a double room and i got a twin..The first room. I think breakfast could be included in the price plus also make it clear that city taxx must be paid on top of the rates. breakfast was expensive. The shower/bath was a bit awkward. Also there was a water stain on the wall and a bit of mould in the bathroom. The corridors were a bit ugly. Better decor for this kind of price would have been better. The rooms were fine. no all was good. The toilets for general use in the basement, near restaurant were clean and very smelling. Also in the area outsite the toilets. No coffee/tea making in room. The only problem we had was that the bathroom had only a bath and not a shower. There was a shower attached to the taps but due to the slant of the roof we were unable to stand up in the bath to use this attachment. I think tea and coffee making facilities should be standard!. Windows would not open and one morning we could not get room service. Can be more confortable shower-bath. Room level diversity might be confusing. You don't know what you get until you see the room. Some are really great, some not that great. free tea and coffee facilities. Small room. Checking Out took a bit long due to some difficulty with the computer system. The 1st room we were given, the roof sloped so much you could not stand in the shower if more than 3 foot tall and banged your head on a beam when you got out of bed. They changed it no trouble. They clearly knew the problem. No restaurant faciliies despite a 3 star rating. Braekfast expensive.Bar closed early at 10:30 and room service... Receptionists makeup was deplorable. Our room was very noisy. We were on a corridor and heard everything that passed. The air-conditioning system was very noisy and there was no way to turn it off or reduce the noise level. A little soulless.There was no air conditioning and the room was very hot and stuffy.The bathroom was very dated. Water was broke when we arrived. noisy during the night time.

From Schiphol Airport:
The shuttle bus to Amsterdam lasts 35-40 min and costs EUR 12 per person. It does not stop at the hotel, but ask the driver to stop at the corner of Herengracht and Raadhuisstraat, from where it is only a 3 minute walk to the hotel. We recommend you buy a one-way ticket, as the service from the hotel to the airport is not available from our hotel.
By Taxi:
- From Schiphol Airport: approximately 20 minutes, about EUR 35.
- From Amsterdam Central Station: 5 minutes, about EUR 10.
By Train:
- From Schiphol Airport to Central Station Amsterdam: duration 12-20 minutes.
This train leaves every 6 to 10 minutes. A one-way ticket costs EUR 3.50 per person.
By Tram from Central Railway Station:
Take either tram 1, 2, 5, 13 or 17 as far as the Dam stop (only a 5 minute walk from the hotel).
