I had already stayed at this hotel once, in March. By that time, I loved the hotel except from it's staff, which I found a little rude. Now I think they have improved it. I've seen different people at the reception and they were much nicer. The location is the best thing about this hotel. It's just a few steps from the most important museums of the city (Rijks and Van Gogh). It's really close to the Hard Rock Cafe and the canal cruise stop. all reviews » I got really impressed by the cleaness and comfort. The beds are wonderful. The bedding was very clean and nice. The furniture seems brand new. The shower is great! Free and fast wi-fi. The There is a kinder garden right in front of the hotel, so I think that's why the street is closed for cars, which makes it really peaceful even in the middle of everything else. You're just a few steps from the best museums, transports, Hard Rock Cafe, a Canal Cruise stop and much more. I would definetly go b. The city is wonderful, and this hotel is in a decent spot. Set beside the Museumplein (think of I Am Sterdam) and where the Van Gogh museum happens to be. The tram to the Centraal Station is between the hotel and Museumplein, meaning quick access to the Red Light District and the train station. Service was friendly, the room was clean (I had a small single), and the fellow residents were young (and I am too). Location is great. The market is relatively close. Lots of places to eat are relatively near (5-10 min). Quiet location. Have bikes for rent. Fashionable shopping street is very close. I think it's a little expensive considering that it's classified as a hostel (in spite of the fact that I was in a private room). Also, it doesn't include brakfast, which you can get paying extra 5 euros. The staff isn't very frindly, specially the Asian woman and man. The hotel was receiving at that same days a school group and then, during the breakfast, the area where we eat was crowded, messy and loudy, but that may happen wherever a group teenagers is. :P. The breakfast was too expensive. The staff when we arrived were curt and fairly unpleasant. The luggage was put in a luggage room that only had one key. Inevitably if someone took the key you were unable to retrieve your luggage which was a pain. Also check in was at 2pm, and it took a further hour for us to be able to enter our room because it was still 'being cleaned' (check out was at 11am). Even though it is actually like a regular hotel, due to type of customers who are young travellers, the place felt like a hostel. Would not recommend it to families with kids. Not enough towels, and no bathmat. Rooms are somewhat small. nothing that was the hotels fault........weather was horrid....rain and cold. twin rooms faced pedestrian street, resulting in some noise at night, but at least the fan could be turned up to mask some of it. school across street produced some noise during the day but that wasn't too bad. room was pretty small. only the dark carpet in the room was a little bit unfriendly. Nothing. Window was leaking cold air from outside, breakfast not too cozy. One day no warm water. Noisy from school!. Personnel is helpful but definitely not kind. Especially the reception staff should be more concerned with guests. Hotel is in a kindergarten area so there might be a lot of noise in the mornings. There is lack of common area in the lobby. Only a few sits are available. So if you are with a group, it is hard to find a place to put your bags around and wait for other people. High rates. Twin beds did not stay together bed ws very soft, no top sheet provided no one at desk when we checked in at 1229 pm despite 24 hr reception waited 15 min when we were exhausted, thank goodness booking company was so helpful and ready to get us another hotel ,. Towels were stinking, and the bedroom wasn't properly cleaned. Staffs are very indifferent and unkind.
