Great location, right in the heart of Amsterdam. If you want to see the real Amsterdam, just step outside the Hotel. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room was exceptionally clean and though spartan, it was very comfortable.
Friendly helpful staff, good clean inexpensive hotel with a bar downstairs in a very busy area of the red light district. Although noisy outside the situation of the rooms facing away from the street ensures a comfortable stay.all reviews »
If you want to get a taste of the Red Light District you really can't do much better!
Staff was also very friendly. Room was small but comfy (read: European) and even the shared bathroom was pleasant.

The location and the super friendly staff. The room was very clean and towel+shower gel+shampoo were provided every day. The Royal Taste Pub has good taste of songs selection.
Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Hotel is right in the middle of the Red Light District so you're close to the nightlife. Complimentary coffee/tea in the mornings.

I have stayed a this hotel before and chose it again for its central location. Very easy to find and only a 10 minute walk from Centraal station.

The stairs are a trek but this is par for the course for much of Amsterdam. It's a noisy location - I got to bed easily tho - but what do you expect lodging in the RLD?.

The narrow and steep stairs up to the rooms, guess that's kind of unavoidable in Amsterdam's old structures. Some noise coming from partying in other rooms, guess that is also unavoidable given the location of the place.

Since you leave your key, I felt guilty waking someone up late to retrieve my key. Area at night gets real gritty.

It was in the red light district next to brothels with naked women in windows. Very disgusting. And the hotel is actually inside and behind a bar. No lift. Rooms are very small.
The bathroom is not attached to the room. No wifi. They charge 20 euros
if you want to use the tv. Room in the fourth flor without elevator.
