Straight across the street there is a dock from which you can tour the famous canals by boat. Within walking distance you'll find the Dam, the flower market and the famous Rembrandtplein with all its pubs and clubs. By tram you can reach all the well-known museums and attractions, such as the Anne Frank house, Heineken Brewery and the Artis Zoo, within five to ten minutes.

The staff were wonderful and the hotel is centrally located. The room was clean and well equipped. I have only spent time there for sleep but what I really liked was the "cozy" feeling i had in my room. Also the very friendly staff.location and staff very friendly ... nice people. Its within 5mins walkin distance of about 20 coffeshops, 5-10min away from trainstation. Inexpensive, very good location, attentive staff, surprisingly quiet room in such a busy area. Furnishings were spartan and the room was small (not unusual in Amsterdam), but quite adequate for the location and price.the location. The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff were helpful andpleasant. The food in the restaurant was lovely and reasonably priced.We liked the fact that there was a 24 hour reception as it felt secureand was good for us since we had to check out early in the morning. Common areas such as halls and stairs were a bit dirty.Yes, the lack of the hairdryer (sorry if they could provide one at the reception i forgot to ask :P ). The wireless Internet signal did not reach my room, so I had to do my online work from the restaurant downstairs. The main light switch was far away from the bed - I had to improvise by putting the desk lamp on a chair next to the bed for an evening read before turning in.We were given 2 single beds despite booking a double room. Also, thewater didn't drain away properly in the shower. Although the hotel was situated in the centre on a main street which is ideal.I feel they should install double glazed windows as you can here alot of the noise on the busy street. Also i feel the breakfast could be improved as it was very basic.Shower smelled a bit and water didnt drain very well, water tasted bit funny. Room was small. Reception of the hotel. Was loud in morning.The furniture and the rooms are not in good conditions... Old furnitures... Very small room.The TV set did not work properly. Hot water had only about 30degC in the vening,. Internet access was not available in the room. The hotel was not very clean and they didnt change the sheets every day.Also the blankets and pillows were dirty. wireless internet doesn't working in the room, it's not convinent.confusing to find the entrance of hotel,as it is a steak house in front, without name of hotel displayed, and the whole hotel is covered by an canvas ad, so all the windows are convered up, the building and the facilitaties are very old. They advertise internet-wifi in all rooms, but that is just not true! When I arrived they told me that they have internet only in the restaurant downstairs and when I went to try this out, no connection worked whatsoever, not good, as I needed internet for work :-(. Reception and waiting space for guests crowded (overcrowded) into restaurant. It was dirty, especially the carpet.price. Our room was the darkest ever!! had to have a light on during the day.Old, very small rooms, not trustable towels. no hairdryer in the room, no available hairdryers at the reception desk, poor choice of breakfast. haygin. there is a rat in the room. no internet connection in the room as advertised. smelly carpet in the room. extremely limited choice on breakfast, better to not include breakfast and reduce the room rates.There was a smell throughout and damp on the walls and the sheets were stained. Even if the crew did their best, they were not able to understand that loud disco music beginning of the morning and during breakfast is not really the thiing that all customers want to receive. They need to have some supervisor in chage of coordination. There were also some problems to coordinate breakfast as they had some other things to do instead to maintain the breakfast table.the reception is in the middle of a smokey restaurant, a weed scent on the corridor, only one small light in the room, spartan decoration, low ceiling, sink was clogged, very noisy all night long up to 3th floor, almost no breakfast choice, personnel utters only mumbling. no wireless conection as advertised, no functional TV, one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed including countries as Nepal etc., no good value for money.
