staff did everything possible to accommodate the needs of guests - Carry luggage up 4 flights of stairs, wake up call by knocking at my door at 0600 as scheduled. Fixing the safe on the spot,...etc. Very good service. front desk staff extremely friendly and accomodating. Cleaning staff very friendly. clean and comfortable rooms. great views of canal!!!. location -- close to Central Station. The staff were extremely helpful with getting our luggage to our room.

The location was its one saving grace. room is a bit dated. The elevator (lift) doesn't begin on the ground floor. You have to go up a steep stair case to get to the reception area and, since we were in another building there was another steep set of stairs to navigate before getting to an elevator. Anyone with mobility issues needs to know this so they can plan accordingly. Be careful its easy to walk past. Steep steps and no phone in room. Was hard to find as sign was Orange Tulip and Dam - very difficult to see. The check in at 1pm? I believe it's too late it's should be 11 o 12 like everywhere. The elevator didn't go to the ground floor, and the stairs were very steep for getting up and down with luggage. The reception was actually out the street and up a different set of stairs from my room and they insisted that the keycard be returned every time I went out. If you can afford to stay at a nicer place, or even a hostel, it would probably be more worth your money and time. narrow staircase, poky room, inadequate city map provided (got hopelessly lost haha) Very expensive, but I did stay on one of the busiest nights of the year... Staff not so friendly and you cannot smoke in your room! Stairs are very steep too!. The room was extremely small. The bed was very uncomfortable. There was an extremely unpleasant smell in the bathroom. the room is very small no breackfast. Uncomfortable bed, terrible view from the window, not very clean,claustrophobic rooms, the guy at the reception. Room is quite small and window really needs to be cleaned. Very noisy. Especially in front rooms it is almost impossible to sleep. No air condition. In summer the rooms are too hot. Very small rooms. Small cramped rooms. No place to relax. Wife had difficulty going up and down narrow trusting stairs. Hot water was slow but one of the clerks was great. Good room maid. matresses too soft. It was very basic and shabby. for example all the carpets in the communal areas were stained and needed replacing. cleaniness. What we did not like was the narrow and long stairs which was not safe and uncomfortable to lift our bags. Very small, no lift, very narrow staircase, Not clean. My Double bedroom was very very small. My luggage could hardly fit in. In the evenings, there was no water in the bathroomin and sometimes there was just cold water! It is very expensive for a budget 2 star hotel. It was a nightmare! I definitely will not recommend this hotel to anyone!. very small room, service very poor. Most of it. Tiny little cupboard type rooms. Smelt bad like sewage. Veiw out of room was of an air conditioning unit. Internet too slow, does not desrve the value you pay at all but this is normal in Amsterdam. You can rank the hotel less than motel level. It's a flophouse and I paid €193 per day. it's a cheat. Smell around room No internet available although they said yes Different hotel name in the door and in booking Unconfortable. About everything. No lift to first floor so luggage is a huge problem, I had to almost beg the guy at reception to help with it when checking in (and he made it flat and clear I have to do it myself when checking out), though on check out the cleaning guy was nice to offer to help. I've never seen a room any smaller, it was almost impossible to walk; maybe the double rooms are better. very small rooms , bad service , service is very bad and people there are very weird highly not recommended. It was a run-down hostel not a hotel. I don't mind "basic" or "budget", but this place was just grotty. The beds were so uncomfortable that I struggled to sleep and the room looked like a deluxe prison cell. If a place can't fulfill the basic function of providing somewhere to sleep, then it's best avoided!.
