Just down the hill from the Kasbah, the Dar el Kasbah is a well-run, friendly, casual place. The staff is very helpful and mostly competent.

It is noisy–particularly at night until about midnight—because of the cafe next door. The breakfasts are good; ask for eggs and you'll get them.

The staff were always extremely helpful with any questions I had. Most spoke French, Arabic, Spanish and English which makes it easy for international travelers. The breakfast in the morning is a bit pricey but it's a great way to start your day if you're not in a rush. The patio where you eat is really nice in the mornings if the weather is good. There's a rooftop terrace with seats where you can read or relax in the sun. The rooms were well kept and all the towels and linens smelled and looked fresh and clean.

Not much that I didn't like. The hotel is in a busy part of town so there's usually a lot of noise outside until about 11:30pm. There wasn't a desk in my single bed room which meant I just had to work while sitting on the bed. Not a deal breaker, but if you're trying to get some serious work done keep that in mind.

Very comfortable bed, rich breakfast served in the open air, room is clean & tidy, just 100m to Medina. Guarded parking for motorbike. Great value for money!

The room and the bathroom are very small. It's not an issue for a short stay. You can hear people shouting outside your window in the middle of the night. For us that was not a problem, just a taste of Medina, but for sensitive people it's worth consideration.

The staff at Dar El Kasbah were all amazing. We were always welcomed with a friendly smile and nothing was you much. Breakfast was good out in the courtyard and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was great. Being on the edge of the medina made it easy to find and also close to the excitement.

The bathroom was small but it didn't really matter.

We chose this hotel for its ease of getting a taxi from the airport and it was able to pull up right outside. Only 2 mins walk to the medina.

Breakfast was a bit slow and not really worth the €5

Good location, great staff, clean spacious rooms.

Very little. Access to the toilet would be difficult for a larger person as it was tucked into a corner between the shower and sink

My room on 1st floor (6) was airy, clean, bright and nicely-decorated. Good air conditioning, pleasant (if slightly cramped) bathroom and shower. The building is well-maintained and characterful, with a very relaxed feel, and the staff are helpful and speak good English. It's in a very good location for visiting the Kasbah (5 mins walk), is on a bustling market street and is on the edge of the medina (another must-visit) . It's also next door to a couple of good restaurants (Hamadi, the oldest in Tangier, is a treat). A very good choice for a short stay.

My room overlooks a courtyard where guys sit around playing board games til around midnight. Even with the windows closed (there's air-con) the noise could be disturbing if you're a light sleeper. Ask for a room on a high floor if that's a worry.

Excellent location for tourism and visiting the Bazaar. Many good little restaurants close by.

We arrived early for check-in and they were apologetic that our room was not yet ready, so offered us the use of a spare room and a shower while we waited. After 12 hours on an overnight train, this was very much appreciated! Breakfast, although carb-heavy, was absolutely delicious. So, so good!

The welcome, the decor and ambience were very special. We would recommend this hotel and certainly stay there again. It is a relatively new business with a dynamic young owner who is passionate about his guests and service and to be commended. I doubt that it is a hotel that will be budget for long. The location is great and opposite a proper Hamam which cost us 60dh each so we really recommend this too.

The breakfast was a bit bread heavy, and we were told after that we could have requested fruit and yoghurt but I hope that in future it is included. The roof terrace was the only neglected area but it was worth venturing up there as the views were spectacular. I would also like to see a fountain on the breakfast terrace as it was hot. This is just nit picking but nothing to suggest the place isn't great.

Staff especially Suraya and her smile. Rooms were amazing!! Looks and size of rooms

Bit difficult to get to. Area around hotel can be quite intimidating especially at night. Lack of lifts may be a problem for some.

A very nice Dar with historic background, the breakfast was excellent, the staff extremly helpful, always in action and the facilities are very good. Another point about this Dar, the management is very reactive, young and highly qualified.

No thing.

The location was very handy and I was delivered by taxi right to the front door.

The hotel was noisy in general. If you don't mind the noise it would be fine.

Staff was very friendly. It is very well situated inside the medina but cars can arrive to the door. Nice room and nice details such a small plate with small cakes on the bedside table upon arrival. I would stay there again.

Great location, just next to the medina. The staff was really nice and helpful. Great breakfast in the morning. The bedroom was comfortable, clean and nice.

After 10 minutes, there was no more hot water in the shower.

Very nice location one minute from old town shopping area. Renovated building with OK rooms. It´s not a boutique hotel but fine anyway. Quad room was very spacius. Nice local breakfast.

Walls are paper thin and you can here everything that goes on in the next room. No lift and wabbley old wooden starecase and balconies. If you have any kind of "fire fobia" this is NOT the place to stay! Service staff in restaurant could benefit from basic training (as holding cutlery by the handle and not the other way around....)

Close proximity to the Medina and price is reasonable.

Too basic that even a hair dryer is not supplied.

Very helpful, charming and friendly young man at the front desk. Excellent breakfast.

Tiny room, barely space to put our luggage and move around. We had to carry our suitcases up many flights of stairs. Pillows too hard (but not so uncommon in Morocco).
