    A delightful stay with wonderful and friendly staff. Location is away from the hustle and bustle which was a nice reprieve and handy to get to with a vehicle. Dinner was amazing and well worth the price (we are dinner there twice - the Tagine was fabulous). Breakfast was also lovely. A very pleasant atmosphere and a highlight of our trip to Morocc... what people say » o. We had a suite which was a good size, - Luxury Ryad, beautifully furnished with very good breakfast. The staff is nice and helpful. I recommend to have a dinner in the Ryad - the cooking is excellent. The location near a door of the Medina allowed to arrive by car or taxi without getting lost. A good choice at a decent price.

    We stayed two weeks in Marocco traveling from city to city! But!! Dar Bensouda was by far the best! We had hotels which costed a lot (!) more money and Werent so excellent like this one! It is a former residence of an Imam from the 17th century and could be described as a palace. A rooftop terrace, inner courtyards and gardens, and even a swimming pool in one of the courtyards.     The Riad is tastefully designed and the decor is chic. Modern feeling with rain shower head was a great feature. Our bed was very comfortable and our room (Alia) was large. Breakfast is sufficient with some variations day to day. We were there for 3 nights so we would not want to eat the same thing 3 times in a roll. Staff was very thorough with in - Riad Layla is on the edge of the Medina, but it is only a few minutes walk from the blue gate. The terrace has a fantastic view of the old Medina. The breakfast every morning is wonderful, and each of the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We originally booked for 2 days, and we extended another day of stay in Fez.     The ryad is absolutely beautiful and a peaceful oasis from the madness of the medina just outside. The staff were wonderful, and the owner was very helpful in giving us advice on enjoying our stay. He organized our pickup and return to the train station and also a side trip we took. The gourmet dinner we had in the ryad was fantastic. - The Ryad Salama is as perfect as it gets, beautiful location, garden with peaceful fountain and gorgeous Moroccan decor, beautifully appointed rooms, amazingly talented and hands on owner who is also a gourmet chef, who made my wife and I the most amazing 5 course dinners each night. We can't rave about our experience there enough! Hats off to Michel, an extremely hard-working owner who makes it all seem effortless!!!!

    Great location: a minute away from the heart of the medina but very peaceful place too. The dar/riad is exactly what you want: a nondescript door opens to unveil an exquisitely decorated and ornate interior. The place itself, and the rooms, are incredibly spacious and comfortable. Due to there being two terraces (which are also great), you can even get privacy in - The family that runs Dar El Bali was warm and generous, welcoming and helpful. The Dar is a lovely home, well-maintained and beautifully furnished in traditional Moroccan style and a perfect location within the Fes medina. We would definitely stay there again if we return to Fes.

We were well received by the owner once we arrived and were given very detailed description and explanation of the various important sites for our visit in the two days of our stay.     The Ibis is situated on the outskirts of town a very short taxi drive away from the old Medina (haggle the price before getting in, we paid just 2dh about 2 euros each way for 2 people in a petite taxi and 5dh for 4 in a grand taxi each way). Although it is right by the modern train station there is little noise from the trains. We were touring in our own car and were - We spent three nights there and took two day trips from Fes (Meknes, 1 hour and Taza 2 hours). The hotel's proximity to the train station made it an ideal location for us, though it is still only a short petit taxi ride (10mins) to the Medina (9.50 Dirhams on the meter, though be careful because most taxis outside are picking up people from the train station and ripping them off. One taxi quoted us 40 Dirhams) There is a nice outdoor pool on the ground floor. Buffet breakfast was nice.

    What a great place! We too were upgraded to a larger room because the hotel was not full. My wife and I stayed for 4 nights and couldn't be happier. The included breakfast was wonderful especially the fresh orange juice, Moroccon coffee, fresh pastries and more. We were 2 couples and we reserved suite amina, but since Hotel wasn't full they upgraded us to 2 beautiful and confortable bedrooms (with great bathroom) in a house just in front of the main building, witch had all facilities corresponding to the main building including wireless wich worked very well! Location is near Bab Guissa, wich is very convenient if you have a car, since you can leave it in the park (not free) just outside medina and walk just a bit

    we were very impressed with the ryaid and its staff. It's well presented with lovely intricate detail and immaculate inside. The breakfast is amazing, we felt very spoilt. We sat there as dish after dish was brought out. Really beautiful architecture right in the Medina, which means you can do most of the sightseeing by foot. We had dinner there for 25eur pp, which I think is expensive but the food was truly amazing. Breakfast was excellent as well. I wish I could stay more time! We hired a guide through them for 25eur, which was ok. They charge 10eur for a transfer to the train station in a grand-taxi, but we took a small-taxi there for 2eur.
