The guys and gals at the hotel were always helpful with directions and general info, and always smiling. It makes a difference. Max the cat is the real star of the riad though. Breakfast was really nice. Decor is very cosy and comfortable. We arranged a tour through them too, which made life a bit easier. The riaad is very clean and the staff is very friendly and are always at yo service. The rooms are nicely decorated . Karen also tries as much as possible to give u ideas on places to visit in. A day before I left I requested for a cab to pick me up at 0415 am and the staff made sure it was there on time.

Nice Riad, very comfortable rooms, roof top terrace with working jacuzzi. You can park safely in the nearby street for free. The back streets yiu take to walk to Djema el Fnar looking dodgy, but at totallyu safe, day or evening (we were out ´till midnight), with plenty of people about. Great location away from the bustle but within easy reach of the center. Tucked back in an alleyway, it has wonderful ambience. The staff is kind, helpful and attentive. The food is decent. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the beautifully decorated rooms. The staff were amazing, nothing was a problem! They were so kind and hospitable, always wanting to help. The breakfast was fantastic, the massage amazing, and it was very intimate, like your home in Morocco. I would highly recommend it!!. I only stayed one eve but would deffnetely return. I loved the location it was walking distance from the medina, butr far enough to be relaxed. The riad was absolutely beautiful. Would suit couples or mature people. The staff are great. There wasn't much not to like about Riad La Porte Rouge. It was just lovely. The breakfast was lovely. What I had pictured as a traditional riad - an oasis of calm in Marrakesh. THe beautiful riad, the helpful staff and owner. Good food and wine. It was a fabulous riad with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Very pretty building, edge of town, very nice staff, good food. Beautiful decor and warm and engaging staff. - location - jaccuzi on the roof. Almost everything. The kindness of the owner, but the room a bit dark and not very clean. It's a bit unfair to say I didn't like the walk to the centre. I did. But it is a good twenty minutes. I wouldn't imagine this will be a problem for most people, especially as there's another interesting square about ten minutes into the walk, and you are right next to the Royal Palace. But if you've got any walking related issues, then you might want to be closer. The breakfast ....its composed of sweet things only ...no cereal no eggs or any hot dish. Hard to find (like most medina Riads) - Between Bab Ahmer (red gate) and the entrance to the royal palace gardens (park on this road), up a small side street, and under a very low, unmarked entrance. About 40 mins walk to Djema al Fnar square, athfirst through some crumbling backstreets, but then through some bustling souk streets. If you don't need to park a car, this may be along way to walk to the square. I have nothing to moan about. It is allowed to smoke inside the riad, and there was a television which one night seemed to conflict with the idea of relaxation and the otherwise calm atmosphere. Our bathroom had a problem with moisture, and even though the staff tried to fix this, it was still annoying as it spread into the bedroom during the day and night. Leaving. How can you fault it??people must be crazy!!if you don't like walking(around 20 minutes to the centre) you will need a taxi:). A bit dark in the bathroom. nothing. breakfast at least for one day in a week should have eggs etc. The location could have been better. Although within the Medina, it was around 20 minutes to the main Square. Usually that wouldn't bother me but the location is quite residential with not so much as a bar/cafe on your doorstep. Nothing. Nothing it was all fantastic and would definitely recommend it ad a place to stay. Long walk to centre, tricky to find initially so u probably need airport transfer. - incense near our room window - ground floor rooms quite noisy. just a little far from city centrte.
