Staying here was really nice and so are the staff, in the end me and my
good friend was almost sorry to leave immediately (1 night stay).
Entering the room, it was clean and quiet. The bathroom is also
spacious and very clean. And the best part is the beautiful scenery of
the Melaka river. A very reasonably priced hostel I'd recommend it
to anyone. It's a must in your tour of Melaka. We will definitely

River One provides simple accommodations, but had no issues. I had my own room, with air conditioning. There is a shared area with view of the river, and also a shared kitchen available to use. The location is 2 blocks from Jonker Walk (lovely night market). The staff helped arrange a taxi to get to the bus station, which otherwise would have been a challenge.
I absolutely love this location, right next to the river, so no matter
at night or day time, you can just bring your computer to the public
area, drink a coffee with the beautiful scenery! The owner of this place
is super cute, he is an ice man from Iceland :) Well, he is really funny
and dramatic! But he will definitely make your day!.
Truly excellent service. Alain, the owner, cares about his customers and it shows. We arrived late in the evening and he took all the time needed to show us where to get the best food for the best price, even at that time. In the morning, looking out the window, we saw a huge iguana crossing the river.
The staff were really friendly and helpful but we didn't interact with them that much during our stay. The toilets/showers although shared were clean and the room was fine with great aircon. It's great for budget travellers and it's in a good location.
Even there is some mistake before but I cant expect any better than tis hostel.. great room, great bathroom, great atmosfer, great staff, the location is near to Jonker street and any place in Melacca, wifi was good..
Nice owner,nice place to stay and value for money. It just a walking distance to reach jonker st and other local restaurant. Especially like the night view of the river. It will be very relaxing to drink at there.
Lovely location and sitting-out area in the evenings. Very original old Chinese house without any pretensions. Comfortable clean room with nice sheets and good aircon.

I don't like that some other residents are smoking in the middle of the night. The smoke actually went through the gap under the door into the room. Even though it's an open air area, it still affects other residents.

The paint of the room started to fall off. if inside room got television is better.
For the weekend price of $30.00 the accommodation was poor. Room had
cold concrete walls and broken beat up desk and plastic stool.
Bathroom didn't have ceiling and you could see junk in the attick.
Room with window did not really have window, just shutters. If you
opened them mosquitos came in. Kitchen had messy appearance. For $15
it will do the job.
all things will close after 7pm, not many things for nights.
