  Our usual Kota Kinabalu hotel was full so we hunted around for another good budget hotel. For us, this means a clean, quiet room with everything working and air con, but we're not after anything else, like freshly painted walls, colour coordination, throw pillows etc! City Park hotel is a little more expensive than our usual but the place is in a ... what people say » slightly better state of repair. Everything worked and was clean. The aircon was super quiet and the electric shower worked fine. The staff were frie - The staff at City Park Lodge were the best things over there. The rooms were small and very basic but fine, but even when we missed our flight early the next morning they were very accommodating and helped us in whatever way they could!

  Nancy was just like a mum away from home! Great wifi, good balcony for smoking, communal fridge to cool drinks, very central location within easy walk to night markets (yum!), dive shop, shopping malls and of course its in the heart of 'china' town. Nancy was always - The atmosphere was very friendly and homey especially as the owners, "Auntie" and her daughter were the friendliest and most welcoming hosts I ever had in any place I stayed at in se Asia. They made you fee like you were family and were very sincere and genuine in wanting to look after you and your needs.
