Led by Nardya and Roberto, the entire staff of the hotel is providing excellent services and are very hospitable. They are happy to recommend the local eateries in the area which is very nice of them. Nonetheless I would recommend to taste the pizza in their restaurant Il Bacaro which is great. Campbell house offers complementary ice tea in the rooms and there is also always fresh water since in Georgetown it can get really hot. The breakfast is excellent and filling.
all reviews » Beautiful heritage house right in the heart of Georgetown, an easy walk (in blistering heat!) to most of the key places to visit. The owners and staff were exceedingly friendly and professional, and the room was very comfortable. The house has been beautifully restored, with as much attention to detail in the common areas as the bedrooms. The huge, tasty breakfast was also a bonus!. The staff were fantastic...the local knowledge was so helpful in making our visit to Penang so enjoyable. The room was beautiful and clean, the treat left each afternoon was a nice touch and the breakfast was great. Perfect location for walking around Penang. The little surprises we find in the fridge after a long day out in the sun, the excellent location, the comfort in the room, the tasteful decor, the consistent efforts made by some of the staff members to ensure that we were well taken care of. The hotel is in an old Chinese town-house, well refurbished to the most exigent standards of modern life, yet maintaining the spirit of the old house. Everything beautifully arranged with gusto! I found myself craving a sit down, outside, away from the Georgetown bustle. I know it's a townhouse so has no garden, but a bit more focus on the roof terrace would be a real bonus. Rooms were double glazed to keep out road noise which was good but no allowance for opening shutters meant rooms are very dark. Difficult parking if driving. The stairs could be a bit slippery in socks!! :-). A litle bit noisy (despide double windows ,but you are in the city...) Rooms relatively dark No garden/swimming pool (but in a busy centrum...). Nothing to dislike. nothing to dislike. Nothing. the Loft room was noisy at night as it is close to the street side of the hotel. nothing. having to leave. Nothing I did not like. Missed a swimming pool, but hardly practical given the location. Nothing. Really could do with breakfast starting earlier, 8.30 is a little late for most people on business. Nothing. The staffs are not that great in terms of food catering. At night after 11pm no staff at lobby. Only one guard man taking care of hotel. No reception . No outcall phone can be made . Something very strange as it is supposingly quite expensive hotel compared to other hotels in George town area. Stairs, no lift.
