The room was very clean and service was very good for clean towels. The general manager, Phillipe responded very favorably to an accidental fall I had the first night. I was impressed by his action to have barriers placed around the edges of the raised platform in the lobby. He called me the next morning to see how I was feeling and offered medical assistance if I felt I needed it. I would definitely stay here again. The location was perfect for our research in Insadong. I ordered room service .
all reviews » I appreciated the luxury appartment which I already knew, as well as the very central and convenient location. Superb view on the city and/or the mountains and the palaces area.. Upgrading given on the first stay (one bedroom to two bedrooms), which gave us even more free space. The kitchen is well equipped, so it's really possible to cook (especially breakfast, as coffee and pastries are very expensive in the whole area) So with a family, you can save money easily on this post. Did not use the. Visiting our grad-student son at a nearby university, we had reserved a 3 bedroom suite, and were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to 1 of 5 penthouses at check in. Pure comfort and relaxation for the whole family! Very nice! Impressed by security measures: Doorman and/or close front desk staff monitoring of the entrance and room key operated elevator. Staff was always professional and helpful; front staff demonstrated excellent command of English. Location was perfect, and the suite was spacious and extremely comfortable. I loved the fitness center, which read open 24 hours and read better required than my gym in Germany! The staff spoke English well and accommodated or requests with utmost courtesy and professionalism. We truly enjoyed our stay at Fraser, and I'm quite surprised to see some of the negative reviews. I searched extensively on English and Korean websites, and visited over 6 hotels in order to find accomodation for my family in Korea. This was a great option as it falls in the mid range bracket in Seoul, but rather than just a small bedroom you get a lounge, which was great as my family was here for a while. Cheaper than the big name hotels, but in my view far better for a long trip. The location was convenient. It was near 3 stations. Although it didn't make sense to upgrade the room to a 2 bedroom suite when they know you are a single traveller....I guess it was because the view was much much better. I could view the life of Seoul and the N.Seoul tower at my window on the 19th Floor, but hope they mentioned, that was what the upgrade was all about. :). I arrived after a tiring trip and was upgraded to a beautiful top floor apartment with a stunning view of the Gyeongbuk Palace and mountains behind. It was excellently equipped with heaps of room for me and the colleague who joined me during my stay. The location is perfect. Just what was needed to lift the spirits. Thank you Fraser Suites. Internet in the room worked fine. Great hours for using the pool and fitness! 6am to midnight. Apartment included two bedrooms, a small office, living room & dining area, two bathrooms, a washing machine, and a full kitchen with pans, plates, bowls, glasses, microwave, all! Plus balconies and big windows. Nice and clean. Spacious and comfortable. Easy to get to. Close to shopping. Nice emloyees...particularly liked Casey at front desk as she was extremely helpful. Ease of transportation to and from airport. A perfect place to stay while working as it felt more like home and less like a hotel. The room that stayed has 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms a kitchen, washing machine and a living room. There's a mate who do your dishes and take out the garbage every day. Opposite to the hotel has 7/11 and hotel itself is located in the nice cultural area. 10 minutes drive to the shopping center. Feels almost like home: comfortable, really big rooms. Location is good, and generally very clean place. We stayed for only 4 days, but would be good for a long stay as well. We got a free upgrade to an even bigger one, without asking. Shows an eye for customer service from the staff. There was no way to improve the stay I had with Fraser Suites. We love it there and our annual trip to Seoul would not be complete if we stayed anywhere else. The 7 eleven store just opposite hotel is a big plus. I like the space in our appartment very much in particular. Facilities were great.Having a separate bathroom gave us a privacy from children. Our children (7 & 14) enjoyed a lot swimming in the hotel. It's convenient location for tourists. the 24 fitness center is awesome. the sauna is also very nice. the room is big and equipped with many items for cooking and laundry. Communication with front desk staff regarding placing a collect call to American Express was a frustrating experience for my daughter. She was given the wrong code and had to place numerous calls to guest services and make two trips to the lobby before someone finally gave her the correct phone code. Last year, breakfast was included, as well as Internet access. These two amenities have been suppressed. Minibar would be nice, but other than that, I have no complaints!. The apartment was undergoing renovation work during our stay. Only one lift was operating which caused slight convenience and confusion. Otherwise no complaint at all. It was really warm in my room and sad to say I could only turn the heater off and open the windows as told. Hope they had options to turn the sir conditioner on as I was sweating during the cold weather but poor room temperature. We stayed in late November and even with the staff trying to help fix it, the apartment was always cold. The heating system just couldn't keep up with the cold coming from all the windows. Hotel resturaunts were not that good. Breakfast buffet was good but steak house not so good. Coffee shop not opened in the morning. Unit was very warm. Ended up turning off all heat/air and opening windows...then had to endure the pollution but the temp was perfect. A little bit old-looking rooms, not quite as "luxurious" as it looks in the pictures. Good nevertheless. They could improve their breakfast selection by offering Korean options for breakfast. Nothing. All other facilities were 1st class, but breakfast arrangement could not match that class. My impression was a copy of Amercian breakfast style. It would be a very good idea to review some European (German or Dutch style - selection of ham and cheese) etc. Nothing - we liked it all. In house room service was very over priced and not of a high quality. We ordered room service and found that one of our burgers was under cooked. It was replaced but then over cooked !!. The lobby was less than great, but this wasn't a problem once we got into our suite, because the suite provided way more room than we could have asked for!. The sauna room is very suffocating, but advantage is its free of charge and for residents only. Only one device able to connect to wifi at a time. No housekeeping service at weekends. Noise when windows opened. Only one pillow each. All good. Wifi was only for one user in room so was a bit inconvent. Not much dishwashing liquid and no laundry detergent. the shuttle bus only does the shopping districts, not the cultural sites - museums and temples - which Seoul has in abundance. We were staying 4 nights and although we requested a specific room we originally had a room on the lower floor however, they did move us, after some negotiation. Longed for a warmer hot tub with jets. Washer/dryer combo was fair. No free wifi or in room internet/computer. The ac is centralized for the whole building and is not personally adjustable. I had to sleep with all windows open for the whole 5 nights. 2 out of 5 nights was very warm and we could not sleep well. This is such a bad experience for 4.5 star accomodation, as AC is always my no.1 key feature in searching for hotels. The pillows in the bedrooms are not comfortable. Moreover, the air-con couldn't change the temperature, so we had to open the window to lower down the indoor temperature. The rainy season in July when we arrived. The fact that many taxi drivers didn't know the hotel when we told them fraser suites insadong in korean and often had to give the address and use the GPS system to guide them. I'm worried for travellers who cannot speak korean. The driving card given during check in was great. Maybe making the signage of the hotel more prominent on road level would be great. nothing. Some area of floor was coming apart or largely damaged without fix! Duvet without sheeting was not good!. No negative comments. The only issue I had was I couldn't get the Aircon to go any cooler then about 25c. The internet wifi is very limoted since one user is given per flat. This makes other partners idle waiting for thie turn. Paying another USD 15 per day for another user is not acceptable by all measures. Minor point, but you have to pay 15K Won to have Wifi in your room. I hate it when hotels do that. To get to the hotel entrance you must go through a dirty alley. None. No housekeeping on Saturdays and Sundays. Breakfast was not included in someway. However had to prepay at the reception Will not charge to the room. Having to cross the lobby to get to the pool. The breakfast is same every day and a few kind of food. Washing machine broke down.
