Very traditional, very nice, and the bath on the balcony was fantastic.
The area contains many scenic spots, well worth the long train trip.
The staffs are really friendly and helpful. They offered to plan our route (using our JR pass) to the airport with the timing of the rails.

Nice location. Good hotel to enjoy a "traditional" japanese night.
The trains were a little difficult to figure out, best to go with a
Japanese speaking person.
In my opinion, the location is a little sleazy. But it's still safe no doubt. I also didn't like that the lobby has the cigarette smoky smell and so does the room (even though we requested a non-smoking room).

The street may not be suitable for kids in the evening.
Place is a bit tired looking, could use some sprucing up. Not a deterrent to staying here again if I needed to.

The room was not smoking, yet in the same floor there were some smokers and the smell could be sense from the room.
