  The staff were fantastic. We were spending the first few days of our honeymoon at the Roykan and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome, booking us restaurants, lift passes etc. their grasp of English was limited but enough to get everything sorted and it was on the far reaches of the resort but still only a 5 min ( all be it uphill) w... what people say » alk to the lifts. It also had its own onsen. In all I cannot recommend this lovely, traditional Ryokan enough.

  Kind, helpful host (we had no problems communicating even though we can't speak Japanese), wonderful breakfasts, great facilities. Our room had a wonderful view. It's incredibly hot in Tokyo at this time of year (august) but it was much cooler in Nozawaonsen. We slept with the windows open at night and needed no aircon or fan. A lovely place. I wo... what people say » uld definitely stay here again and will go back to Nozawaonsen for sure. - stayed for a week early march,perfect position, a minute from the shops & cafes, 4 mins walk from the ski access moving road. a traditional japanese inn with own onsens, male and female, tatami mats, futons and a magnificent japanese breakfast...plus a wonderful host who looked after as if we were family...loved it

  The apartments are right in the centre of town and the restaurants are all within a few minutes walk. The studio apartment we had was spacious by Japanese standards. It had a nice modern feel without loosing all of its old-worldly charm. I would be happy to go back there if we get the chance! - Loved the breakfast setup.   Extremely helpful and friendly staff. The hostel is right next to the slope and is very clean and cozy. We loved it and will recommend it everyone we know.
