  I like the fact that when we had some last minute change of plans, the receptionist helped us instantly in cancelling the last night of our stay (we stayed for 5 nights) as we opted to go to another city for our last 2 days. After checkout, we were able to leave our bags, rent some bikes from the hotel, and bike around the city until our departure later that day. Great way to explore the city (although close to Nara park it gets a bit too crowded to ride the bike).

  The location was great being walking distance from train station and yet near to the parks. Alot of amentities around the hotel - restaurants, supermarkets. The Hotel staff was friendly and helpful and managed to get a kid size bike for my girl. We enjoyed to common hotbath where we are provided with Japanese gown to use.

  This hotel is very close to JR Nara station which makes it quite useful if you're doing a lot of travel out of Nara, and it's not too far a walk to the other train station in Nara. It's also very budget friendly and the staff are nice.   This was a very good Ryokan in Nara for a quite reasonable price as far as Ryokan pricing goes (the dinner and breakfast were worth more than $120, potentially $200 just for those two in some locations). It really was a great meal, and offset the price of the room. Breakfast is a sha - I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel New Wasaka. The staff has been really helpful since my arrival till even after I checked out. Especially, this hotel has several English-speaking staff and made my stay much easier. The food is excellent and good value for money. The Kaseiki comes with many Japanese small dishes, fresh sashimi and yummy beef shabu. Location is convenient too. 10 minute walk from Kintetsu station and walkable to Todaiji. This places offer very cool traditional Japanese rooms too
