An extremely well-designed (but small and compact) hotel. Very friendly staff - knowledgeable and helpful and really kind. We've stayed in 4 hotels over the past 10 days in Japan and this is easily the best; much better than the place we stayed in Kyoto for 1.5 times the price. If you want to visit Kyoto AND Nara, just stay here and do a day trip (or day trips) to Kyoto, it will work out cheaper and more interesting. This place is spotlessly clean, really nice - but still homely. Games, playst.
all reviews » One of the best places that we stayed at. Incredibly cheap, and absolutely amazing value for the price. The room was really cute and cozy and the futons were really comfy. The wifi was good and reliable, and they also had desktops and printers available in the common room, as well as free reading material, tea and coffee facilities, maps and a kitchen. It's really close to the station - within walking distance, even with large and heavy suitcases. The staff there were what really made our stay . Inexpensive but very clean, comfortable and convenient. The ensuite room we stayed is bigger than we thought as it fits 2 comfy bunk beds. Also great location in a quiet street, only 5 min walk to Nara JR Station and 15 mins walk to Nara Kintetsu. A female staffer speaks fluent English and she gave us a useful map of good restaurants in the area so we had a great sushi dinner near Kintetsu Station. Love this place. Highly recommended!. A home away from home. Comfortable, compact ultra clean room with high tech toilet, comfortable bed. Japanese hospitality often talked about, enjoyable host. Small communal kitchen. Economical bicycle hire, easy to launch into Nara old town and handy to historical attractions via the car free lanes. Easy walking distance to Nara station. Numerous resturants close by. Location across the street from JR Nara but we walked from Kintetsunara maybe 15min casual walk. Good restaurants in area to choose from incl. Lawson around the corner. Loved it ,Will go back June '13. The staff really help (literally, he helps me bring my big heavy suitcase to second floor), speak english well. About 5 mins walk from JR Nara Station. Warm welcome with good english communication skill. A common kitchen can be shared with other guests. The room was comfort and tidy. Rooms are quite small but this is fine given how good the price is. We found that we would only really stay there or check in during the day to get something from our bags as its not as easy to kind of "hang out". We had the bunk bed rooms and so we just easy sat on our bed and had the tv on in the evenings. but I would definitely recommend this place and I would stay here again!. nothing! Everything is perfect!. No main road signs (jr side) if you come from Kintetsu Nara Station using back streets you won't see Hotel signs until you get to front of Hotel, needs signs on other side of building or street corners. Street signs in Japanese only. Nothing. A little bit far from Kintetsu Nara Station but anyway I still can walk :). Wished Nara was larger, as this would have allowed us to stay there longer than 2 nights. Toilet and bath area was a bit cold even though it was equipped with warm air heater. For adult it is alright but I couldn't bath my 2 year old in case she caught cold. Not really a dislike but an elevator would be really helpful but given that it is really more of a house... the sink in the bathroom is a bit too small. That we didn't stay longer. Although knowing the spacesaving size of the bathroom, the sink/hand basin was on the small size. Once the tatami mats were rolled down not much room for backpacks. This is to be expected though I guess. Noisy 'neighbours' until midnight. Not sure how this could be addressed. room very small, but for one or two nights is far enough. lounge at reception. Nothing. A little far away from Nara park, but very close to JR Station and supermarket. Rooms are a bit small.
