This hotel is only 3 mins walk to Matsumoto Station and there's a 7-Eleven nearby for some hot food and groceries. The walk to Matsumoto Castle is only 10 mins from here so it's the best choice for me in terms of convenience and comfort.

Staff was very helpful, the hotel is very clean, and the location is super comfortable - just 2 min. walk from Matsumoto station. A pretty good base for exploring the castle and the mountains.

The room was very very small, and the shower was just claustrophobic. But the most annoying thing was the bed - very uncomfortable, old mattress that lest you feel every spring in it...

Very friendly, helpful staff. They accepted our bags before check-in time and had them ready for us in our room. Helped me figure out how to ship bags from their hotel to our next one and were very patient with my limited Japanese skills.

Some of the other hotel guests got a little noisy.

The staff was the best. I had a little language problem with a situation I needed to resolve and the staff was extremely helpful and got me to the right place to solve my problem.

Close to station, local attractions and variety of restaurants. Wifi in room. Arrived early but staff happily stored our luggage safely and took them to our room so they were waiting for us when we returned from the days outings.

Location is great. 2 minutes walk to JR station and 5 minutes to centre. Also castle is walkable in 15 minutes. Perfect base for exploring Matsumoto and traveling deeper into the Japanese Alps.

Rooms are little small. You smell some smoke even in "non smoking" rooms. Instead of free wired internet wireless internet should do it nowadays.

Excellent location right next to the train station (as the name suggests). Good base for exploring charming Matsumoto. Staff are very friendly and generally have a good level of spoken English. Rooms are small but comfortable. Wifi signal was very strong in the rooms (enough to support Skype video calls). Good communal baths on the 7th floor. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a few nights.

Room decor was a little bit dated - was probably very chic about 25 years ago but now looks a bit tired. Room had the faint smell of smoke even though it was "non-smoking", but it wasn't too much of a problem.

Excellent, friendly welcome by the breakfast team, which serves well prepared Japanese food with a smile! Close to the station which has a reasonable selection of eateries. The hotel will lend you a bicycle for exploring further afield such as the castle, which is astonishingly beautiful. Relaxing bath on the 7th floor.

Odd smell in the bathroom, and slightly uneven floor in the corridor of the 4th floor, which tripped me up a couple of times.

The staffs were very helpful except for one particular male staff. Love the variety of breads offered during breakfast!

One of the staff was rather unhelpful. Even though we told him that his colleague told us that it was possible, he insisted there is no such thing and kept telling us he can't do anything.

The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The location of this hotel near the train station, made it very convenient to get to from the Shinkansen. The hotel staff were very friendly and they helped us find four of the towns free bikes so that we were able to see Matsumoto castle before it closed. The lounge next to the bar was also really nice to hang out at and have a few drinks.

not very modern dark interior, dark furntiture style is that of a traditional mountain hotel, breakfast bought separately
