  I've been staying at ryokan Sansuiso 2-3 times a year for the past 15 years. The value for the price is great. Don't expect the Ritz here, this is a small traditional style Japanese inn, the tatami mat rooms are small with fouton for sleeping. In the past few years they have upgraded to non-pay, flat screen TV's and free WiFi. There are a few ... what people say » rooms with full toilet/bath, but most share a communal bath/shower and toilet (single person use at a time not communal bathing). These are very clea - Awesome in general. The staff were consistently thoughtful and happy, and jumped through hoops for us whenever we had even the smallest questions. They are more than kind, and the services offered are definitely appropriate to the price. Of course, the location is also brilliant, right on the Yamanote train line (Gotanda Station), and has a grocery store and many restaurants nearby.
