1) Great breakfast - love choice of diverse Japanese food including local specialities; "Western Breakfast" a bit limited but this is not the reason why we choose to go to Japan, right? + great and friendly staff in the restaurant! 2) Internet connection for free, in room. 3) location of the hotel in the city centre, very close to the bus station, easy orientation in town. 4) availability of in house spa 5) hotel facilities in general + cleanliness.
all reviews » Clean and comfortable hotel. We booked a non smoking room. When we arrived in the room it was smelting smoke. We got a new room right away which was a lot better. Although in Japan it seems difficult to get a really non smoking room. Especially in hotels which exist a little longer. However this hotel is perfect base for exploring Kumamoto and surrounding. The hotel location is perfect for Business and Leiure. Bus stop is right next door, restaurants a few minutes walk, Lawson-convenient store is right around the corner. Service was perfect, started raining and the hotel staff handed me an umbrella to get to my car near by. GREAT! Must stay for Business and Leisure!!. Walking distance to almost from everything! Near to bus station and Kumamoto "Ginza". You can walk to Kumamoto Castle from the hotel (20-30mins walk). Very clean and comfortable room. They provide good quality of services (staff were very efficient, provide us with high quality of toiletries, etc). Very reasonably priced, safe, clean hotel with a non-smoking room and very friendly, helpful staff. The onsen on the top floor, and the free noodles in the late evening were very nice as well. Finally, availability of transportation back to the train station in the morning was great as well. I love the hot spring baths available in the hotel, the facilities were awesome! Location was pretty good, next to the bus terminal and near the shopping area. We also love the complimentary shuttle service to Kumamoto Station at selected timings. Good location with a public bath available for guests. You can also do laundry for free in the changing rooms of the public baths but you need to pay to put your clothes in the dryer. Good location, convenient. Would definately stay again. Our twin room was very well laid out to maximise the space. The entrance hall way with storage space, sink area and bathroom separated from bedroom by a sliding door, gave a lot of extra space, and the room was very comfortable. very good hotel , location good , service is good , breakfast is very very good ( 5 stars) , SPA is good . The only drawback I found at the Dormy Inn Kumamoto was the lack of WiFi in the hotel rooms. They do have free WiFi in the lobby, for 2 hours at a time, but it was a little bit of a hassle registering for it and then getting a password via the Internet. They do have 3 PC's in the lobby, however, on which you can access the Internet. I would be thrilled to see this hotel improve its WiFi capabilities, but it was otherwise an excellent hotel. Nothing. The air-conditioning was ineffective, so we had to open the window, which meant a little more noise than was ideal. N.A. No negatives. Only its bed so hard and flat. Parking charges. 1000 yen per day. Only Green tea in rooms would have liked some coffee. Even though you come to expect that generally Japanese hotel rooms are smaller, our 'double' room was particularly and uncomfortably small for two people. In fact it seemed as if it were geared for only one person as there was only one set of towels and slippers. You can't find the hotel but using its Telephone number to search on gps. the smoking room stings and finally have to change room. Missing internet for the room. room crazy small even cannot open 1 suitcase. rooms are small. Room stinks. Requested for non-smoking room, the smell of cigarette still come through air conditioning.
